This is a 1-player playthrough of the 1989 shooter game by SNK, called "Beast Busters". Mouse was used as an input device, although the original game uses light guns. Created using MAME 0.149.
The zombie enemies of this game loosely remind me of the extraterrestrial "ghouls" of the infamous, 1988 John Carpenter sci-fi/action movie, _They Live_ , especially the ones from a distance. I wonder if the SNK staffers behind this game got any ideas from that film, as _Beast Busters_ was made and released a year later.
@Illusion System: This is just my opinion, but I do believe that _Beast Busters_ was loosely influenced by the movie _They Live_ , at least from the designs of the general zombie enemies.
So they're like... zombies, but actually more like genetically altered, powered up Frankenstein's monsters, is what I'm getting from this game (the latter part of it especially where you were moving forward through the "lab tunnel" with all the containers holding them in there. Looks like a really fun game, but I'd probably get carpal tunnel in the first 3 minutes. You make it look easy; I remember how hard arcade games were so you'd be forced to put in quarters, ha ha ha.
"IT'S SAFER BY THE RIVER." Erhm, no. No it isn't. It's worst, LOL! Fight all the bosses at the end again: classic arcade set-up! Plus, the ending is a cryptic cliffhanger. SNK did make a sequel, "Beast Busters: The 2nd Nightmare" for the Hyper Neo Geo 64 Arcade system in 1998-99
Very good up until the 5th stage, but then this is a challenging game. And to think that no one has managed to find the "mythical" elixir bottle & body armor.
Did you do anything special to get the mouse to work? I can move the cross hair and when I left-click, the bullets go down, but they do not damage the enemies...
After pressing the tab button, under "Input (this game)" option, make sure "Lightgun X Analog" reads "Mouse X" and "Lightgun Y Analog" reads "Mouse Y".
비록 원코인 클리어는 아니지만 실력을 인정할 수 밖에 없는게 난이도가 너무 극악이다 이건 밸런스조절 실패다1990년인가 울산의 어느 오락실에서 이 게임을 만났다 건슈팅이라 200원인가 300원인가 했다 오기로 계속 이으면서 왜 죽는지도 모르게 죽다가 줄기차게 동전 넣다가 동전바꾸러간 사이에 컨티뉴 종료되어 어린 나이에 탄식했던 게임이었다 동영상에선 아마 마우스로 했을거라 조심스럽게 추측해본다 업소판은 따발총(?)모형이 3개가 붙박이로 있는 형태라서 조준이 상당히 제한되어 있었다 동영상처럼 현란(?)하게 조준해서 맞추기가 불가능에 가깝다 만약 올린이가 업소용으로 했다면 진심으로 경의를 표하는 바이다
