Shew lord what were the devs thinking with that grandpa Spider-Man sprite LMAO!! Haha, other than that, looks like a solid game. Maximum Carnage is one of the best beat-em-ups ever, right there with Turtles in Time
Shew unfortunately arcade games are just too geared toward loosing, they throw SO MANY ENEMIES at you….i played the arcade version of Turtles in Time thinking it would be better…it LOOKS better but wow. The combat and gameplay is also just inferior, even if the game was easier
I am one of the few that can beat the game on one credit, however when I would do it, I somehow managed to keep one or two shots of the Cobra assault rifle intact when facing the boss. One shot would completely deplete the health bar. On the stage 6 boss (the one with both ED-209's) I would only have 1 shot left so I could destroy one of them with that one shot and then only have to deal with one normally.
Spider-Man has some of the lamest villains. Most of them are just a dude in armor who went insane and/or guy whose gimmick is entirely too literal: Rhino, Vulture, Scorpion, Beetle, Lizard, Dr. Octopus, Sandman, Hydro-man... If Scarecrow from DC was a Spider-Man villain, he'd probably be actually made of straw or have power over straw or some shit. Kingpin is literally just a crime kingpin I guess we should be thankful he isn't bowling-themed, too. He's also got duplicate villains: Venom, Carnage, and the other symbiotes, Green Goblin, Hobgoblin, and the other "goblin" derivatives, Electro and Shocker (did he really need two villains with electric abilities?).
Kids these days will never understand how good these arcade perfect games looked for us kids back in the day. Arcade, coin ups were new and improving at a super fast rate. This game here was one of the best of its time. Hard as nails but totally immersive.
This is on top of HIT and RUN imo, the greatest simpsons game and well arcade game ever made. Love the animations so much, I wish it got ported to the super nintendo!! 😭💙

Oh yes if you were good and quick enough you could get through the whole game on 1 token. Now that I think about it this game might have been an early Psyop considering what was going on in Latin America at that time with Nicaragua and the blonde Russian looking guy
When I was 12 I beat this game with 1 quarter lol... summer 1990 my local corner store had this game ... I'd stock the sodas for $5 ... of play this game and by the end of Summer I was finishing it with 1 quarter ...
Although he's cool back then, don't anyone realize he's a dead experiment? Especially after 3 Movie? Even new 2000 something guy is dependent on some guy and construction so hes not all that great.remember 3 he couldn't do anything without that special docto. So obsolete r
