I think a good sign of someone who is killing it at their craft, is if the viewer forgets they clicked the link to compare the composer's skill set to their own, and just gets caught up in what they are watching. Really well done.

I love the drums in the beginning of the track, :D. However, I wanted to ask which version of FL Studio 11 are u using? (Like Producer, Signature, Fruity, etc.). I'm interested to know b/c i'm currently composing a few myself and looking towards using a lot of synthesized percussion, like u did in the beginning. In addition, is their a way i can download that drum library? I'm using FL S10. Also, with Pattern Blocks, are they compatible with 10 b/c i tried to download it, but its asking me of a password, so i backed off, thinking it was under construction or some sort.

It's the full producer edition. The list of instrument libraries I'm using are in the description. I'm mostly using percussion from all of 8dio's Epic Percussion stuff. Sorry about the download, I never knew it was like that. I just fixed the link, there should be no password required now.

I do follow your channel and think your are good man.comes to arranging I consider my self just a very beginner. i used Hollywood strings from main stage,but why they sound so fake while yours sound pretty natural to me.i have added modulation and expression on it also try overlap the notes to make it sound more legato,but it still sound very midi...hope u can give me some suggestions.many thanks

You really have to understand how each instrument in the orchesta works. Also, making sure that each note/articulation is not overlooked in terms of aiming for realism.

Epic :) But I think you could have used more low end and less high end on your percussion. Your track was missing floating a bit too much.

Why did you have 2 pianos? Doesn't a real orchestra generally just have 1 piano, and aren't these melodies/chords playable on just a single piano?

+Jesse T Both of those midi channels route to the same single piano. It's easier to manage left and right hand in separate channels so editing velocities of unison notes are much easier.

Matthew Pablo Oh god, now I feel dumb. Thanks for explaining anyway. Hey, will you be making any tutorials in the future? There are very few videos on youtube about orchestrating in Fl studio. Most "orchestral" tutorials end up with an unrealistic organic-synthetic track.

Awsome. How do you synch the tempo so that it fits to the actions of the video? Did you have to try until it fit perfectly?

+Dizzy Viper I usually set the tempo first to see where more downbeats hit on my hitpoints that I plan for ahead of time. After a good tempo is found, I make sure I make the music "hit" on certain moments of the film. This usually ends up with odd time signatures, but this is perfectly normal in film scoring. You can find a tutorial on my process on film scoring on my channel if you're interested.
