It doesn’t make logical sense in my opinion tbh the maximals travelled in the future they found the ark the autobots and deceptions who are significantly bigger and twice their size and somehow starscreams spark finds this planet again he doesn’t recognize it as earth nor does he know about events that was what was extremely confusing to me
Ironic that Starscream didn't get Terrosaur's body, considering that Terrosaur was pretty much Starscream in terms of flight, voice, personality, and crew rank.
Starscream probably figured that Terrosaur would be harder to control then Waspinator plus he may have wanted Terrosaur as a possible ally at some point. It's probably why Megatron kept the two of them separated after they briefly took the Maximal Base.
I'm more disappointed that while Starscream was in Waspinator's body, he and Terrosaur didn't team up against Megatron, only to turn against each other as well.
Beast Wars strictly used Vancouver actors, they weren’t even able to get Frank Welker or Peter Cullen to be Optimus or Megatron when they appeared on Beast Wars.
They should of got him a protoform and killed him off around the end of the series. Having him with ravage would of been way out there, deceptions forever.
@@DarthBigBen which will betray him later because Megatron took away his free will in energon because of that this will lead to his more traitorous nature in cybertron
I love the small detail that Waspinator’s Predacon insignias become Decepticon insignias when he’s possessed by Starscream. They didn’t have to, but they did it anyway and I admire that
@@kylestubbs8867 Then again, he's also in the body of Waspinator. Waspinator is known for having horrible luck, unable to catch of break, being repeatedly blown apart, and having to reassemble himself (Rattrap keeps a collection of Waspinator's left behind body parts).
That end rant as he's drifting into space is actually pretty terrifying if you think about it. It also begs the question, how the hell did Starscream's spark end up in the time of prehistoric Earth?
The Transwarp that the Maximals and Predacons used at the start of the show. It scooped up his Spark somehow and brought it there, sending him back after he was expelled from Waspinator.
Starscream says his spark was “Drifting helplessly through the depths of space beyond the reach of time itself” so somehow he managed to just drift out of time in a sense. Honestly impressive that through however long he was drifting through time and space Starscream remained the exact same
Megatron: "Starscream and Black Arachnia: I'll have both their treacherous hides! Yes. I'll...I'll melt them down and use them for aluminum siding! Oh, yes indeed! Grrr." Always loved that line for some reason.
Ironically, this Megatron already had 3 Starscreams on his team: Terrorsaur, Taratulas, and Blackarachnia. Terrorsaur was most like Starscream in that he had a high screechy voice and was very vocal about wanting to be the true leader of the Predacons. Taratulas and Blackarachnia were much more clever and subtle, though.
@@girlgarde was unfortunate latta died for which no one knows how or why!? he was the perfect starscream & cobra commander and if he had lived, would have been megatron/galvatron for the 2007 movie!
@@girlgarde Terrorsaur had a very similar personality to Starscream. I did think this voice was a little over the top when I first heard it years ago but it has grown on me. It's my favourite Starscream voice after G1 which I mean as a compliment.
You know despite being written nearly a decade later and being voiced by someone different they nailed him to a T. It comes across so naturally its almost easy for me to almost believe it was planned from the g1 series despite obviously not being the case. I really wish they carried this further in a different series or something. The one carry over between generations being that ever lovely , ever persistent starscream buzzing like a mosquito in the ears of others until he gets swatted. Also the music is great especially for the era! Additionally they really nail how into his own brand starscream is. He really is his own hypeman , shouting his name and title to those who literally have 0 chance of appreciating such info. Best bot.
@@okamijubei Incorrectly, to be fair... Starscream didnt even know it was Galvatron until right before got his "Coronation" interrupted, and had thrown Megatron out of Astro Train cause he decided "Well THIS hunk o'scrap dont work anymore!", so it wasnt that Star Scream betrayed Galvatron, he just pissed off Megatron, then Unicron found him and went "Yeah so you're gonna work for me now, for a bit, you got no choice, cool? Cool" And THEN _GALVA_Tron went "Wait a damn second, i'm forgetting a loose end here somewhere, something about Decepticons and -- OH WHERES THAT SNIVELING TOASTER OF A LIEUTENANT?!"
Nice that they show that while Starscream was a cowardly traitor, he has countless years of experience in battle and it makes Waspinator a much larger threat than he ever was before.
Mainframe lost the source files long ago, but based on what they had for Reboot, they actually animated the shows in what could be considered Blu-ray quality, then downscaled it to be watchable on old school tube TVs.
I’d always thought beast wars was just a transformers reboot but turns out it continues after the events of the g1 era Now I really want to watch this series
Beast Wars was originally going to be a reboot, or at least, have nothing to do with G1 and start with different versions of Optimus and Megatron. The writers didn't even really know generic Transformers lore at first! But they were so good at their profession it still held up really well. Then later, the writers did look up G1 material and decided to somehow make Beast Wars's Megatron and Optimus as Cybertronians who fashioned themselves after the old legendary figures of Cybertron, and then later... well if I say anymore I'll be spoiling the story connections with G1. The writers did a good job somehow weaving plot threads into the G1 universe. Beast Wars is definitely up there in one of top 3 best written series of all Transformers cartoons.
He was brought back by Unicron after making a deal to restore Unicron, only he betrayed Unicron as soon as he was given a new body and the Autobots blasted Unicron's head from Cybertron's surface and Starscream right along with it, when Starscream flew by Galvatron and his Decepticons they attacked Starscream and likely killed him off screen.
I never noticed the T2 reference. Right after Primal says “Hasta La Vista Starscream” for a brief second a pair of sunglasses appear over his eyes lol.
A nice touch is in "Transformers: Animated." In that series Starscream gets a piece of the All-Spark embedded in his body. As a result he can't be killed. After supposedly being taken offline his body comes back on line. He keeps going after Megatron who easily defeats him over and over again. It gets to the point that it becomes very dull. Later, Starscream finally realizes that it's a bad idea to go after Megatron so he sets up his own base. There he creates five clones of himself and embeds a piece of his spark in each one. Each one activates with a part of his personality: (1) a sycophant, (2) a coward, (3) a liar, (4) an egomaniac, and (5) a female (when Starscream asks her "So, which part of me did you come from?" she responds "Don't ask.").
I know right this episode was brilliant but still I am confused how transformers have ghosts and G1 transformers didn't have sparks the only one who did was optimus that glowy thing in the matrix
Actually, all Transformers have sparks-- the whole of their essence, their personality, their "soul" if you will. It merely almost never comes up in the older programs, because, well, kids show, means robots can die, the whole "never say die" thing from cartoons of the era... that sort of thing. But Starscream... Starscream is a... unique individual. Any other Cybertronian, when killed, they (usually) die. Their spark dissipates, they fade away, they go baibai. But for some reason-- which as far as I know, has never actually been explained-- Starscream's spark stays coherent-- indeed, so far indestructible. He can even possess almost any known mechanism of sufficient complexity. (This has not always worked to his advantage.) Starscream is immortal, or the closest you come in the G1 (and many later) continuities. Fortunately for the universe, he is nearly always an ultimately incompetent immortal, who has a positive talent for losing.
Kenko706 yeah to be honest I agree I have no idea how his spark survived through G1, Armada, Energon and the other Transformers but I will admit it is good to hear the voice of the original starscream in beast wars
The voice actor for Starscream in this episode did a pretty good job of impersonating the original actor and especially when he says "Allow me to introduce myself..." which just always makes me think of the G1 episode 'Ghost in the Machine' when he says the same thing to Unicron.
I wish someone would do this same storyline with amazing voice actors and better cgi. I know everyone wants it. Even the reruns of this show is still awesome to watch.
So basically... after the events of Ghost In The Machine, Starscream was sent back to the Beast Wars era and possessed Waspinator. That's pretty much all the context there is.
They'd stab each other in the back. Frankly, I don't know who to root for. You have Tarantulas the evil mad scientist and Starcream the evil 2nd in command who lusts for power, they both are untrustworthy......
Surprisingly now looking at clips of this show and watching the original G1 Transformers series clip this was a really well thought out show besides all the goofy ness. It had some really nice moments, tide into the past well, some great flashbacks and some entertaining moments. It had so much potential if it was taken more serious and developed more.
I'm convinced Waspinator is a descendant of Starscream, his spark's able to withstand hits that killed the likes of Depthcharge, Dinobot, and the first Optimus Prime.
No he didn't. Starscream idiotically sacrificed himself so the Autobot- and Decepticons would stop fighting each other and focus on stopping Unicron, he didn't die defending "Galvatron." What that garbage show again, your memory fails you.
As Starscream told his story to the Predacons, I listened to him saying he fell defending Galvatron from Unicron and I thought to myself "That's not how I remember it." Then it was revealed that he was lying, and I realized I had almost entirely trusted the word of the most treacherous Decepticon of all while having directly seen the history that he was lying about.
Yeah I know it can be confusing but Beast Wars is actually both a prequel and a sequel to the G1 Transformers timeline. The world of Beast Wars actually takes place three centuries into the future after the Great War between the autobots and the Decepticons. Sometime after the events of the G1 series, the Transformers left Earth and made their way back to their home on Cybertron, and within the centuries of evolution and time, the Beast Wars Transformers would become The Descendants of the original G1 Transformers. That being the Autobots becoming the maximals and the Decepticons becoming the Predacons. The Beast Machines series would later explain the event was called the Great upgrade in which one became the other, Autobot to maximal and decepticon to Predacon. Anyhow when you watch the Beast Wars pilot and you see the ships going through portal crashing on the Earth, that's because they went traveling through time due to Predacon Megatron using transwarp technology. As the series went on , they would later explain that it was the Predacons mission to travel back in time and erase history due to Megatron possessing the golden disk.
Apparently this was was because Staracream's spark went through a rift in time that sent him back to the same time period that the Maximals and Predacons happened to have traveled to. The main issue is that Starscream's last appearance in the G1 cartoon had Unicron restoring his body, then he was sent flying through space. So, either he died again sometime later or this occurred after he was killed in the movie but before he appeared as a ghost in the G1 cartoon.
Starscream actually mentions in this episode that his spark can travel through space & time. it does sounds plot convenience but at least it was not a plot hole.
Visored Kuzu I mean in both of those cases it was with the main bodies willingly taking in another spark while here Starscream clearly went into Waspinator much to laters discomfort. So maybe since the main bodies spark didn’t willingly accept the other one it didn’t cause a transformation?
I love how we saw old G1 Transfomers Easter Eggs in Beast Wars really love how we got to see G1 Optimus and gave Maximal Optimus his new form with his spark. But Starscream says that he was protecting Galvatron yet Predacon Megatron get's his dragon form from G1 Megatron.
That would've made sense, the two of them are a lot alike but perhaps Starscream possessed Waspinator since Waspinator had a simple mind that was easier to contain then Terrosaur......
I've never seen any fiction saying they're related. Though if any future official fiction were to retroactively say so, I'd have no problem with it. It's a shame they killed Terrorsaur. He was one of my 3 favourite Predacons along with Megatron and Inferno.
Megatron’s main goal in “Beast Machines” was to control _everything,_ right down to the wills of his more durable enemies. Any traitorous effort on Starscream’s part would’ve stuck out like a sore thumb.
I just noticed Starscream said Galvatron and it was there that Megatron (beast wars) discovered Megatron (G1) in perfect shape in the ark so in theory this could show this Starscream is from a parallel universe meaning G1 and Beast wars are two separate continuities (if anyone here thought beast wars was taking place during G1's event when they crashed into earth and stayed in stasis for millions of years)
I misssed SOOOO many references in this show growing up. Cause I had no idea it was a sequel to transformers cause I had no idea transformers existed or was a thing, I thought beast wars was the start of the franchise. unicron...megatron g1.....so many things you miss when you don't realize this, you can really appreciate the show THAT much more w hen they jam this much homage into another series into it.
And there's a Primax cluster where things went differently. He learned from this episode and this time defeated the Maximals, made Waspinator get his own Transmetal body with a jet mode inspired by his own, had his own version of Beast Machines happen with him taking the place of Primal, etc.
