Looked more and... Damn, The Old World is GOOD! I LOVE it. had not this high expectations but.... Oh yes.. It gives me the same feelings I got when i had the brand new 6th Ed book, got WD 250 with Ravening Hordes.. Maybe I said that in the last vid, sorry if so.. But it feels like that level of balance and power.. The 7th Ed Army BNooks, power creep and 8th Ed nonsense is gone.. maybe the odd good thing from there left.. I like the random charge, like THIS. I can live without guessing artillery.. I can live with the magic. This is really good right now!
Love these army discussion vids, you and Phil have such great laugh and banter whilst been very engaging! As a fellow Chaos warriors player looking forward to their review! And maybe some pointy ears???
Thanks mate glad you’re enjoying them! I think high elves first (maybe maybe) as I sort of have a thing where cos chaos is my main army I want the discussion to be peerfect (though maybe I should do an army then late year discussion of them(?!)
Running a roided out Doombull with 7 Minotaurs today vs Chaos warriors. (with roughly equivalent points in chosen) Expect to either be big fun or get magicked off the board.
Btw you can take slug skin on your BSB and take offensive mutations on your beastlord and put them in the same unit so he is still hard to hit but now hits back harder
Any other Brayherd players here try out Armies Project and fall in love with the Preyton? Given the focus on the Old World and Bretonnia's prominence, it's a unit I'd have loved to see come into play. The model is old, but it's one of the most sickhouse looking models FW ever made for the WHFB. GW, if you're reading put Preytons in an ambush driven custom muster list in the Arcane Journal for Beasts.
A huge issue i found in my games is if you have ambushers, they will often not be in range of your general for leadership and in that case, they have to take their primal fury or panic tests on their own low leadership scores and often fail it
Agreed on that, Im not a massive fan of ambushers, I dont know how you'd buff them without being too strong (maybe auto come on on what turn you want) but other than that any solving of the problems would make them auto take
Great review! Really like the Shaggoth + magic item combo, and as mentioned giving a doombull the berserker sword grants it to his unit so you get +2 attacks for everyone. Downside is you don't get Foe Render if you take an additional hand weapon so there's still a place for great weapons into elites.
ye theres a choice to be made there: personally i tend to favour great weapon ( i mean wounding T4 on 2s not 4s and then the -2 is just so good, especially on 3w models where it takes a good number of wounds to reduce your attacks)
Berzerker blade does not give Frenzy to the unit it joins. Frenzy only applies its bonus to the wielder, however any unit with one or more frienzied model will have to follow the Frenzy rules regarding Charging.
Not a bad idea, ill check mierce now! Im going to have a real root into some 3d ranges aswell for something that will fit my Kurgan theme and be a mental combination beast
The chariots are great mate, though theyre infantry is defiantely more towards chaff than monster: tis the way of chaos I suppose, the champions are super hard!
