I was born 1974....kid in 70s and 80s ..relate na relate ako sa mga picture you'e shown nakita ko mga yan kahit batang paslit pa ako...I remember vividly the luneta park, the buses and the double decker...hating hati ang henerasyon ko sa makaluma at innovation ..I am so blessed
Salamat Beata, ang ganda ng Maynila. Malinis. My family moved to Manila in 1973. Tahimik, wala akong naranasan na nakulimbat o sinaktan. I worked in COA in Land Bank of the Philippines sa Intramuros area. I was also assigned in Land Transfer sa Palacio Del Gobernador malapit sa Manila Cathedral. Bagong bago pa yung building na yun. Then, I always passed by Luneta, may concert at the Park pa nun by Phil. Philaharmonic Orchestra, then sa Manila Bay sa Roxas Blvd.
Napaiyak ako after seeing this. I was very much part of this decade having graduated and found my first job in 1976. Sayang the youth today will never experience the beautiful life during the good old days.
1975 to 1978 Those were the best years of my life as "Batang Cubao", where I usually hang out, while I took my Nursing at Ortz. University. Lots of "chicks" in their cute miniskirts around, I tell ya, while I swagger along with my bellbottoms and my "Balimbing Disco shoes" (Pa-Jeproks style with long hair). Yup, Ortz. U., that everyone used to call a "Diploma Mill for Idiots" back in the day, was my dear alma mater. I used to go shopping at Queen's and watch the fabulous Christmas displays at C.O.D., Cubao, checked out the Makati Quad Cinema and Rustan's, have gone "Namamasyal pa sa Luneta 'nang walang pera...", and had our graduation at the Philippine International Cultural Center. Well, I made it to Riyadh, Seoul, Anchorage, and finally here to Chicago, and the naysayers are still stuck in Pinas. So who's laughing now? He-he. Ïf you ain't laughing, you ain't living, baby..." as they say in my hood, Southside Chicago. I listened to the advice of Mr. Rodolfo "Dolphy" Quizon, "Kaya ikaw, magsumikap ka!..." *I hope I have inspired someone today to strive harder to reach their goal/s. Thanks for the memories, OP. Take care and have fun, everyone.
Keep it coming pls. Ingat lagi. 🙂🙏🇵🇭

talaga mabait at innocent kami noon. si marcos lng ang puno ng deception at nakaw kaya nagawa nya kc he was the first pres n ng plunder to the max. saka yang lrt di ntapos putol p s taym nya. imagine mas mahaba p n stay nya compare s proj nya n source of corruption nya.
i was born in `70 so i can say that i have experienced and seen some of these here. it brings back old memories, mixed feelings of happiness and sadness but nonetheless very nostalgic.
Thanks for refreshing my fading memory. My fondest were the motorbike rides up and down Dewey Blvd, meeting up at the barbecue plaza in Baclaran then riding to Ferino's Bibingka behind the Manila Hotel before heading home in the wee hours of the morning. One can easily cruise on Highway 54 from Pasay to A&W Cubao in six minutes. ☮
You could just imagine how easy it was to get from one point of destination to another during those time. It was marvelous. So awesome. I missed those late night “Tipar” with barkada. Time when you feel so safe going home from lakad ng barkada… Kaka miss…. Thank you @ kabayang cycoklr… Be safe..🙏🇵🇭
I was born in 1961 so I have witnessed the Philippines at its finest. I specially remember that Pantranco provincial bus with long wooden seats and you can enter or exit on both sides of the bus as we used to ride those buses in the 60's whenever we come to manila or go back to the province, an 8-10 hour trip from QC to Bolinao, Pangasinan on mixed rough and asphalt roads. Life was so simple and so sweet then.
That’s true @ kabayan Normando Rabaya. Life was so simple then. Hope the new generation gets to experience and enjoy the same amount of pride for our country. Sana pahalagahan nila at pagmalasakitan ang bayan natin. By the way, thanks for sharing some of your stories and trivia. Ingat lagi kabayan Normando Rabaya. 🙏🙂🇵🇭
during rainy season travel was so difficult right before you get to Bario Ambabaay, In one case a Pantraco got stuck and swept over by the flood. my brother in law was one of the handful that survived that incident.
Thanks for the wonderful videos and music; I get teary-eyed every time I watch them. I was born in Manila in 1947 and left the country in 1969 when I enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Your videos bring back good memories.
Thanks so much for the appreciation to the videos. It’s really hard to compile and create videos like these, most especially old photos have become scarce nowadays. Sooner or later, we might not be able to create videos anymore because of its unavailability. Enjoy while it lasts. Thanks Carlito Alzona. Be safe kabayan. 🙏🇵🇭
During Those Times . Philippines at It's Finest. We are only 27 Million in population in 1960's. 36 Million in 1970's. Moving Forward to 2020's We are now 109.6 Million. Almost All cities are experiencing Overcrowding except the Countysides. Baguio City Lost Most of It's Canopy of Pine Trees to Pave a way For Housing For It's Increase Of Population.
though i was around 2-3 years old during this time. looking back at my childhood picture during the 70's. how i wish i could remember those days and enjoy the beauty of Manila during the 70's....

Remembering my university days at Adamson University. Thank you for your videos BEATA. Feeling homesick watching from Canada.
We were once called the Europe of Asia, a title we can never regain again because of our government's ineptitude.
I’m curious if Pres. Marcos really made the country great and progressive during his terms? I’m not into politics but I’m not really convinced of both sides (Liberal Party and Marcos) since people had limited information and mass media was “main source of info”. Millennial generation have been educated by books then (more of anti Marcos). If the policies and plans of Pres Marcos were continued and sustained, could have been we’re the same level development with Singapore? If leaders before were all visionary and capable after Marcos regime, Ph might have been 3rd world country these days?

Philippines is so beautiful on those time. Disciplined, no trash, no crimes, peace loving people all over the country. With just blink of years of bad politician, they turned PI into a disaster country.
Wow! Beautiful memories of the 70’s very nostalgic. I left the Philippines in 1977 headed to USA and it looks exactly just like it when I left. At the time the population of the Country was only 42 million, now it’s 110 million a whopping 151% increase in 44 years.
fred tacang You are absolutely correct! It’s sad they couldn’t control or had no plans (Family Planning). If you don’t have jobs or means to support a family.
@@beetlesazer Actually panahon palang ni ramos, may family planning uli (flavier's condom drive lol). Protestante kase si ramos at flavier kaya wala sila paki sa 'protesta' ng mga pari lol Then as economist, lalo pa pinababa ni gloria ang population growth rate natin. And under noynoy, pumasa ang RH Bill (di ren nakinig sa mga pari lol). Thats why from 5 to 7 fertility rate (number of children per mother) nung '70s, bumaba ito to 3 to 4 nung '90s at 2 to 3 in 2010's Target for 2020's is 1 to 2 children per mother. Para 2030's-up, mas umangat lalo ekonomiya natin
@@alfredoaltaresjr3241 Level of education i guess. The more educated a person is, the more 'educated' his/her decisions also are, including family planning Thats why under gloria, she incentivized attending school by providing free food in school and CONDITIONAL cash transfers/4P's (to their families) for students. And under noynoy, we became K to 12, to put our educ system at par with 'international standards'
Philippines was so beautiful country before. I remember how beautiful and simple life was when I was still a kid. The air we breathe those times was so clean and fresh. How fast time flies. Those were the signs of the past... so nostalgic and memorable. I missed my younger years.

I'm getting convinced that the 60s to early 80s were the golden years of the Philippines. The time when Filipino were disciplined. I wish I was there so I would know the truth about this era. Because the stories I heard from my parents, titos and titas, who were 16-20 y/o during that time, are the exact opposite of what was written in our history books. Has history been twisted? For over 30 years, we made the Marcos family so evil and ruthless but was that really the truth? Why is it that after all these years, they never made any altercation with these people who were throwing stones at them? The people who lambasted and destroyed their name. Why is it that the major improvements in the Philippines (speciality hospitals, infrastructure, symbolic buildings, etc.) were made during their time and haven't been followed by the next leaders? I remember Prof. Slughorn of Harry Potter movie where he altered his memory of Tom Riddle. I feel like there's this missing piece in our history. I wanna know the truth once and for all. The new generation of Filipino deserves the truth. Let us know the truth 😔💔
