I remember in my wild west game, I don't remember the guy's name exactly, but they talked to Albrecht's great-great-grandfather and helped protect him from waves of enemies when facing against the meta-plot events of that time period. There's a lot of parallel between him and Albrecht. I made the mistake of having him sort of 'pop in', but his goal was trying to mend bridges with Older and Younger Brother and the sept the players were in was close to and allied with Older Brother (thanks to the players). I think it worked well with where the story was going!
At the present time, we are hearing a number of concerning issues involved in the production of W5. Some are highly public and verifiable, others highly public but speculative, and some involving private emotional discussions with sources that are still processing the impact a hostile work environment has had on them. To support these workers, we determined that the best thing our podcast can do for them is not support the game’s release; rather directly through purchase or review of positive aspects that have been leaked to us, or indirectly via covering controversy or being criticized for its flaws. We are aware that the present owners of the WoD IP have been shopping for a potential buyer and feel that a new IP developer should be the beneficiary of such a promotion, even though small. In the face of the workers treatment, how we feel about the new release of the franchise doesn’t matter. Those workers did not deserve their treatment. So we did not purchase and we won’t review the copy leaked to us until after the hype season has passed, if ever. As well, people that have already purchased the book do not need to feel shamed for not frantically following soul-draining corporate drama which would have to be covered should we put out a review of the copy leaked to us. We will always have our books, and the ability to find good people to play Werewolf with. We have long developed house rules that fix our issues with the past editions, and are very happy to work with good people that want to try the game’s previous editions but may have concerns.
Honestly i think the crown moment makes some sense if you consider the BSDs as knowing damn well what the crown means. Albrecht is in charge, in a simple, primal sense like any Alpha of a Garou pack. Given Werewolf lore has a tendency to use things like primal instinct and genetic memory, maybe here the Dancers simply realized "Alpha talks, everyone else listens".... Also he probably hoped the traitor could redeem himself if he were to be let live
Haven't completely gone through it, but it sounds like Jonas is a bit like Robert Baratheon from Game of Thrones though it sounds like he doesn't quite have the same animal magnetism (pun not intended) that Robert used so well to get people he was fighting just a little while ago to follow him with a smile on their faces and a song in their hearts.
