This is actually possible. I did it years ago. What youre forgetting is the fact that brute shots allow for a sudo butterfly jump for 1 player with the use of 3 shots. Add in the ability to double jump off another players head, look just slightly less then straight down so you shoot the cliff or wall 3 times and player two swings the hammer at about the second grenade shot. This will launch you onto the cliff face, if you do it before a loading zone which causes the falling platforms have the second player kill them selves to respawn up top. Then its a matter of loading the zone while another player is further/closer to the ship. Then load the zone and get moving. If I remember correctly the last jump is either a grenade jump or a brute jump. The second will launch you further as you can get both boosts to stack at their highest velocity.

Apparently you can beat it while walking, ​Termacious Trickocity​ posted a video where they can actually walk inside the Forward unto Dawn's hanger bay

This level was perfection, the Halo 3 ost in the background syncing with your surroundings exploding makes the perfect ending to a game.

When Master Chief makes a promise to drive less in order to cut down on emissions, he takes it seriously.

This is exactly the way Bungie intended for players to complete the stage

This game along with CoD Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops 1 had some of the most memorable soundtracks in my opinion. I have some of the soundtracks memorised just from my childhood alone.

This is what I love about halo that you don’t get with any other game. So many Easter eggs, so many small glitches that can turn a single level into almost a whole different game and still be so incredibly fun and thought provoking. Yes please, I want to see more

The speedrun strategy lets you keep the hammer too. After or before killing Guilty Spark, juggle weapons so you place the hammer leaning against the door. Afterwards, go back against the door and you should be prompted to pick up the hammer.

Basically guys stick the the left the whole run 😂

I remember trying to do this for a while...took too long for me, I just wanted to own noobs online. Protip: If you are landing on something that is sloped down from above and press jump as you hit it, you get propeled you forward. Speed runners use it a lot.

props to you and your friend to finishing this level on foot i always tried this with a friend of mine as a kid but we never got anywhere close as you did so we assumed it was impossible to get to the first tunnel if i tried this today my patience would have run out by this point haha. seriously though congrats i say you beat the level even though you can't activate the cut scene. its funny as when i watched to the part where you were stuck at the last gap before you got the grav hammer i was like "can't you use a rocket jump or grav hammer jump?" but when the grav hammer kept disappearing on you i assumed it wasn't possible to keep it

This is so crazy.. I tried this when I was like 8 or 9 when the game first came out. I even found all the places that you could stay on without falling… I could never make it past the first tunnel though.

About the gravity hammer. In almost every Halo game, if you pick up a weapon, then drop it, the weapon will stay in that location even when leaving the loading zone and coming back. Weapons that are dropped by enemies but not (at least once) picked up by the player, will disappear upon reloading the zone. All you really had to do was pick up the hammer then drop it, and it will not despawn. This applies to all weapons in almost every Halo game.

Runnimg on the last missiom of halo 1 on legendary is impossible

The birthday grunt at the end is the only player to reach it that far without a vehicle.

"Can you do X without Y" is a format that i do not like at all. But this was actually very interesting because of this particular level. "Being able to experience a level in a way the game designers never intended" this premise is really cool, especially with older (Pre-2010) games.

Second he mentioned the gravity hammer I thought of the weapon wipe and immediately knew it would be an issue as that killed my skull run.

Some kind of visible trophy or Easter egg should be placed there in a small update, something like “You actually did it?” or “So close yet so far” Just to show appreciation for the impossible.

I know this video is old but in the hard to jump part at the end you could try sticking the player beneath you, while you both jump, the grenade on the other players head, while both in the air may propel you to the other tile
