Everyone does Arven SO wrong in the ending- Mans mom just died and Nemona is just like “wanna see me do a flip?”

I like how Larry constantly affirms that he is as average as you get. The plainest of characters, blander than porridge. Yet despite that, not only is he a gym leader, he's a member of the Elite Four.

The ending making me almost cry and then immediately going into an Ed Sheeran jumpscare is not how I thought this game would end

Arven clearly inherited his mother's cavewoman strength, being able to pull the protagonist onto Koraidon's back in mid-air like that, and doing it *one-handed* as well...

Professor Sada mentioned something about her original colleague leaving, referring to them simply as "That man." I wonder if that means Professor Turo exists in this universe as well, and furthermore if he is also Arven's father. Which means the games decide which parent is the neglectful one, and whicb one went to get milk

Honestly the ending was one of the few times a pokemon game actually faked me out, it was a great idea having the final boss be the professors themselves. Area zero was really well done with the alien/ambient music and the slow descent into a Jurassic park type area.

I like the idea that Geeta really does have to regularly go out of her way to discourage Larry from working himself into overtime so much. Some people truly and genuinely enjoy being workaholics. What does he use the extra income for? I'll bet it's to buy suits for his Pokemon, and that is his most extreme hobby.

I gotta say, this game has one of the best villain in gaming history. The antagonist has actual screen time and development throughout the story, and the villain's motive and determination is relatable. Not to mention the villain's redemption arc is the best part of the story. Can we get a shoutout for our favorite antagonist aka RT's stubbornness and his pokemons' disobedience?

I literally just beat violet last night and god what an ending for sure. Also Larry being part of the Elite 4 was probably the greatest plot twist in the entire game

Every one of these episodes makes me increasingly more sad that this game was released in this state. The Story is strong, the Gameplay is solid, it just needed the polish to be one of the greatest

I actually failed the entrance exam and I wasn't trying to. Through the whole game, every time they asked if I wanted to do the gyms and be the champion.. I'd always say no, my friend wants me to and I am here. Every answer I can pick like that I do. So when she asked.. and I answered, they sent me away.

You know, if you think about it, arven lost both his parents in both games. He really had the worst experience.

Can’t believe we had to sit through one of the saddest ends to a Pokemon game then Ed Sheeran turns up

the eerie music is actually a memory leak bug. if you save right before one of the members and close the game, the music should be fixed when you turn it back on

the ending hurts even more once you learn that during the paradise protocol, its said the ai doesnt want to fight you... despite everything, its still rooting for you

Larry is just such a good character from how his personality is just realistic proper adult behavior and just some real adult thing like, how he treat us meal after 'stressful' encounter like some adult does. because they have proper job and salary to teach us good life lesson like, adult also still need to learn and tell us what good thing he learn from it (how he change from normal to flying type in endgame).

Dan really went on a journey through this game, from "Taffy no!" to "Candy no!". Magnificent.

I think my favorite part of the new Pokémon game was when the evil professor’s AI doppelgänger transformed into a crystalline entity and traveled back in time. Never expected to write those words in that order and actually mean them, but here we are.

Larry's the kinda guy who for every morning, has a breakfast of a single slice of white bread with a glass of lukewarm water. He adds butter on holidays. To the water.

I like how, despite everything, Nemona is just there to be your actual friend. They’re excited to play off your success, and is just interested in being friendly rivals.

Fun fact, Nemona has a 1% Dudunsparce. Dudunsparce can either have two body segments, or a 1% chance to have a third body segment. So, she just casually has a 1/100 pokemon, and apparently Meowscarada is her pride n joy

I had said Larry was my most difficult fight, when he showed up I thought they would just bring back whoever gave you the most trouble.

Larry being the third member of the elite four was such a great moment for me. He was the only gym leader to actually beat me, and seeing him come back was like the game trying to remind me of that loss. Very thematic, great character, 10/10 plot.

Its funny watching different content creators react to Iono. They ether love her or absolutely want her left as a splatter against the pavement. There is no in between.

Larry is an amazing character.

0:31 I love that they instantly fail anyone who went to Manzana Academy. We're lacking some context about that school's reputation that we deserve to learn more about.

17:00 I just realized how insane Arvin’s upper body strength is. Not only is he holding on, with is impressive by itself considering the speed they’re going at, but also pulls up your character and sets them down on Korreidon like it’s actually nothing.

The funny thing about Larry is that despite his claim to being ordinary, he 100% isn't. There are no other character like him in this game, he is set outside of the norm.

Absolutely flawlessly balanced game with no exploits or sequence breaking at all

EDIT: After Sword and Shield's bad execution of a story, Scarlet and Violet has somehow managed to not only create one of the better Pokemon plots, but also a surprisingly bittersweet ending, that despite its flaws is still really good. And do you know the worst part about this? Due to the game bad graphics, many Pokemon fans who had enough of the Pokemon Company insisting that Gamefreak putting out games with such bugs on a tight release schedule will likely miss out on the story. I mean, it's not that bad since they could just watch the cutscenes online, but it really does feel like Gamefreak is shooting themselves in the foot with their release schedule.

RT made me love even more tinkaton. Taffy liking lettuce but not wanting to listen to her and then gradually accepting her as a trainer through the game is genueny a good character arc. This whole team is so perfect and fun

I wouldn't be surprised if Nemona got so mad, she outright pseudo-swears at you and forces the rivalship.

I love when RTgame plays the game exactly as it’s intended with no game breaking mechanics (He never does this)

Arven's one of if not the best character in pokemon. He's gone through so much and yet he's pushing through like a champ.

I would've loved for a set of options for a proper reward after beating Geeta, and one of them to be to give Larry a vacation.

out of all of the pokemon games, this one would have benefitted the most from voice acting. i think if there was voice acting in this one, even if its persona-style voicing, the emotional moments would hit so much harder and really be able to sink in

I played through it and screamed with my lungs "ITS FORGOTTEN LAND ALL OVER AGAIN ISNT IT" and then lost it for the next 15 minutes

Oh my goodness, Dan. Your deadpan improv of Larry was gold. “My favorite seasoning is salt” caught me by surprise but left me dead. Well done. I waited to watch this series until after I finished the game myself, was not disappointed.

Make sure to go back to the zero lab soon. Once you’ve completed the main game, you actually get the opportunity to catch the Koraidon that killed Sada. In that center area where the lab is, you can find a wee rock ramp that leads to a small plateau. There, the Koraidon should be waiting, and you can battle it and catch it. Good too, if you’re wanting to trade a legendary for Miraidon.

I actually teared up at the end of a pokemon game. That wasa hell of an ending. The Arven/Professor storyline was done really well.

During the test I said that Larry was my hardest gym fight (I relied a lot on poisoning my way through fights with Clodsire so his Staraptor with facade nearly reverse swept me). I thought at first when I saw him in the E4 fight that the third opponent was dependent on what you answered.

Poor Arven, maybe his dad will come back in the dlc and he'll even have the milk with him.

"This champion sure does like to compliment themselves for being the best thing ever, how stacked should we make their team?" "Make her team almost exclusively mid to low tiers, some of the lowest levels of a champion ever, and make 5 out of 6 of them weak to the fire starter." "And this is the... top champion? The one who just hyped herself as unable to hold back?" "Well it's just a title, that she gave herself, but you are going to fight your more competent rival right after regardless." The story is still a huge upgrade over the mess that was Sword and Shield, but man do I just not care a single ounce about Geeta. Genuinely one of the most "who cares" champions of the entire series. Plus, she dislikes Larry, showing she has no taste.

It’s crazy that we came from probably one of the worst stories in Pokémon in Sword and Shield to one of the best stories and endings in the entire series so good that it’s probably on par or even surpasses Black and White. I absolutely can’t wait for the eventual DLC of this game!

God, I have never seen Dan hold so much anger towards a pokemon game as much as the VTuber, I felt every bit of it when Taffy slams her hammer down on their heads

Not even joking Larry is by far my favourite character so far this gen Followed by Penny but she just can't match the sheer presence or lack thereof that Larry does or doesn't have

In the end game I decided to turn around right before entering the Zero lab. I thought i might be able to catch one of the Brute Bonnets waiting outside, and instead saw a shiny Gible wandering around that I would have definitely would have lost with no idea he was ever there if I didn't

Because she's an AI, chances are she'll still exist in Paldea even after the battle, just eons after the time has passed. I believe the reason you can still find these paradox pokemon spawning even post-game would be because she's still alive despite the time machine visibly being "shut down". She transported into the past as an AI and probably is hiding away somewhere, elsewhere, in paldea due to the unwanted virtue of (practically speaking) immortality. Even if she's rusted and barely functional somewhere thousands of meters below the ground, she's still there and the teleporter is picking up a feint signal. Might have ended up somewhere in the Great Crater underground as a result of the meteor itself.

This ending, more than anything else, shows exactly how much potential this game has. The story is absolutely amazing, the settings are breathtaking, the music is absolutely _god-tier_ (though that’s hardly surprising given who worked on it), and the gameplay (when functioning properly) is generally very solid, with some great new additions to the formula. The problem with this game isn’t the story or gameplay or even presentation; it’s the fact that the Pokemon Company set a ridiculously unrealistic release date and refused to give Game Freak enough time to put enough polish (or really any polish at all) on it. Hopefully we’ll get some post-release updates soon that will fix the performance issues and help people appreciate the amazing game hiding under the low frame rates and glitches (and hopefully the response to this whole mess teaches TPC to give Game Freak the time they need on projects of this scale in the future).

The disrespect against normal types is foolish. The literal god of this universe is a normal type, but he had to switch his team to another type just to exploit the mighty Tropius

Actually love the ending here so much. I've always said that in SWSH it would have been based as hell and way more interesting if Leon had died when he failed to catch Eternatas. To have this ending, where we learn Sada is dead, then also see AI Sada basically die, is so so good.

Dan's overfixation over one character and continuous implementation of them despite them no longer being relevant nor even being present in the scene never gets old

I literally laughed so hard when the ending song came on and I had no idea it was Ed Sheeran. 30 seconds in I was like “wait lmao is this Ed Sheeran?” And I looked it up and I started crying from laughter.

I am more emotionally attached to Arven than I have ever been to a Pokémon character, I want him to get a DLC that's just him and his dog opening a sandwich shop with absolutely no stressful things happening to either of them.

It's a good thing Robot Sada decided to battle you using Pokémon instead of just... curb stomping a teenager. Which would've been the smart thing to do.

I wish this game was given the time it needed to have a chance at being as great as it's trying to be.

Honestly the only real complaint I have with SV's story is the lack of voice acting. So many great moments, significantly hampered by the fact that no one speaks, despite acting like they're speaking. Just imaging what it'd be like if at least the more cutscene-like scenes had voices, and perhaps some others like the dialogue in Area Zero.

I fought Geeta with a level ~53 team and it was genuinely really tough. Being underleveled is fun

i dont keep up with pokemons in any way besides watching RumbleTumble occasionally, so seeing that Sada twist paired up with its ending hit me like a train, jesus christ especially after Sword and Shield i kind of came to expect the stories in the new games to be awful, but this wasnt only a really good spin on the AI thing, but also incredibly well set up with Arven as a character and his arc of helping his dog, you just feel for the poor guy compare that to the celebrity twins with terrible haircuts from Sword and Shield whom i despise too much to even remember their names, this feels like a massive improvement leap in the writing department, i applaud

Your Larry voice is probably my favorite thing to come from these games. Also, there is no way his favorite seasoning is salt- salt would be much too spicy for our beloved slice of raw toast in a suit to handle. This man eats dry cornflakes because "hot" foods give you _urges._

Fun fact: I got a shiny Espartha right outside the Zero Lab. It was literally just "hey. Wanna take me with you hon?"

Literally every turn in that ending was a left but I honestly can’t be mad about it. It was one of the best and most interesting late games in the franchise. They were able to pull several fast ones on us without jumping the shark or breaking the game’s continuity.

can we just admire Taffy's character growth throughout the playthrough, she didn't want a damn thing to do with lettuce at first, but as the adventure went on Taffy and Lettuce grew to become friendlier and even became on of Lettuce's most reliable companions. I feel like i've experienced a Pokémon character arc like this once before.....

Unironically, there is so much potential in scarlet/violet The gym leaders are more memorable than average (Larry and Iono anyway), the story beats are really good in Arwen's story in particular, and that ending was just really cool. It's just a shame it suffers so much from bugs, and the low framerate
