Spore speedrun to reach the Center of the Galaxy (Galactic Core) in 2 minutes and 54 seconds (and 10/60 frames) using Wormholes. This category of speedrun is denoted as "NG+" which allows for assistance from previously saved Space games and the use of Consequence Traits.

I like how someone can figure out how to get to the core in 3 minutes while I struggle to find purple spice planets for 20 minutes

I've read that purple spice, and I think rare spices generally, are most common around blue stars, if that helps.

@@ParallelogramCH Yeah its a 15% chance for a planet to be purple spice. Still rare, but it’s why for the colonization mission I don’t colonize the quest planet. I just search for a purple spice one

@@theagn9234 I do the same, and then I get annoyed at how the terraforming mission points to the crappy red spice planet that I didn't colonize.

it takes them WAY more than 20 minutes to plan and practice this route. if you memorize which planet has purple spice and constantly practice flying there from home, you too can get there in under 3 minutes! otherwise, it's more fair to compare the routing time. don't unfairly compare yourself to people :)

Wow, this is really cool! I didn't know that you could leave spice crates on other planets for your other saves. The depth of this game and it's mechanics still surprise me to this day.

you also need more consequence traits for your species. Maybe photosynthesis for cell? as well as city-state stage and aquatic stage. If this game were to exist i would vanish off the face of the earth and play spore 2 indefinitely

You keep on beating the game so fast that the videos are getting faster and faster ;p No but I think I posted this elsewhere but the causality between the savefiles still blows my mind. As far as I know nothing in the manual I still have sitting around my room or help menus or anything brings this up though I could've missed it

Thanks! That is the closest exit Wormhole to the Galactic Core, there are others nearby to the Center but are out of range of 3 parsecs to the next star. Indeed that Frequent Flyer farming took a lot of practice, and sore wrists lol.

is it possible to make a save in creature stage then put a monolith on ur creature planet? would it progress ur creature instantly or would u end up being creature stage on a planet with a creature in tribal stage

Once a planet is saved, other Space games are blocked from affecting the planet. But I wonder what would happen if we place a Monolith before starting Creature Stage, wait for the planet to evolve into Tribal Stage then try playing on the planet, I'll have to experiment around with that!

I'll try my best :D Currently Steam is at 643 hours from 2016ish but most of my time was on the DVD version from 2008-2016 which wasn't tracked but best guess probably around 1000 hours but hard to remember.

I wonder if there's other ways to take advantage of savegames sharing the same galaxy? Can this effect the planet you play on in creature stage?

It's possible to use Planet Sculpting tools on the planets that can be played on too. It's then possible to play Creature Stage with customizable terrain and can have interesting effects on Tribal and Civilization Stage to finish the Stages quickly. I linked an example of Tribal Stage in the description to only spawn 1 other rival tribe to beat Tribal Stage!

Making a space race to manipulate save planets with is gonna be so fun. I'm thinking something inspired by the subnautica precursors...

The wormhole connections are different between installations of the game but are stable within one. So I basically went from the wormhole near the galactic center then found where I came out and made sure to get a New Game as close by as I could.

I'm curious, if all the other save games share a galaxy with each other, what if you destroyed the planet of one other save games?

The home planet of a saved game is protected and can't use a lot of tools on another saved game's home planet. But the rest of their colonies are treated like other AI empires and can be taken over. When we return to the other save it should reflect the change!

Yep! Saved Space games can interact with each other. Spore will prevent us from Planet Bustering another one of our home planets though.

We can change the galaxy in Spore by replacing the "Spore" folder in the Roaming files with a different one. I have a written explanation and tutorial in the linked Google Drive with this video :)

How long would it take to go to the Galactic Core while in a ghost ship, with no worm holes?

Following the normal speedrun route which usually takes about 5 minutes without wormholes, using the ghost ship makes travel a bit slower but should be able to get there in around 8 minutes or so :)

How's that beating space stage if you didn't even reached the maximum rank? Going to the center of the galaxy is just the tip of the iceberg, far from being the formal end of space stage.

there's no real definitive "end" regardless. you have to put the goalpost SOMEWHERE and the community has decided the "end of the game" is reaching the center of the galaxy, purely for the purposes of ranking and categorization

@@sweetypuss I know there's no end but reaching the center of the galaxy is relatively easy, much harder, or much more time consuming is reaching the maximum rank so that is the "formal end" of space stage. In fact you earn nothing from reaching the center of the galaxy, it's just a curiosity. The 42 packs to colonize T3 planets in an instant are basically worthless.
