Hey, glad to see this keep going! I'm sure other comments have told you abou the genocide route, so I wont say much about it. However, that is where the death notes and some new mechanics come in, so it gets hard fast. The beginning of the first song used to have both insta-death notes in the first build, but were removed because they were so hard it made the rest of the pacifist route look easy lmao. Also at the part when your health is covered up, those black bars also cover your notes, cutting about a third of your reaction time. Very subtle mechanic, but it makes a big difference. When it comes to week 3, the only mechanics are a wierd dodge/attack combo and notes you have to miss. They get really hard, and since they aren't entirely creative (comparatively), I would recommend turning them off if it gets too hard. Also, there are extra songs unlocked in freeplay mode when you beat a week, so don't miss those!
I'm so glad you actually gave FNF another shot even after your first attempt at revisiting it, Indie Cross is such a good choice to get an idea of what the community is doing nowadays aswell, one mod I'd definitely recommend you check out though, is Hotline 024, a project by Saruky, who funny enough composed the 3rd song in this video, Final Stretch, there's no mechanics or anything, but the songs go so hard, it's only a demo atm, with the full release set to drop later this year, but even then, there's already a whooping 24 songs to enjoy in it, all composed by Saruky aswell
From some reason they introduce the bones notes in whoopee even though there are no bone notes when you play on normal and they only show up in Sansational if you attack Sans three times which leads to the other path you can go through. But if you don't attack which leads to Final Stretch, there's just no bone notes in the entire pacifist route for the week in normal.
To unlock the genocide route, you have to attack sans 3 times in the second song. It’s presents 1 new song to replace “Final Stretch” and it’s changes the second song a bit. It’s also has a couple new cutscenes. I say it’s worth it all the way to do it. Although it may give you Kitcat flashbacks with how hard it is, given that it gave sillyfangirl a hard time. If you don’t know who that is, he’s one of the best rhythm gamers globally, it took him 1hr 30m to beat the genocide route. So if you don’t finish it thats cool, but I say to just check it out.
