Beatles reaction to Let It Be movie 

Let it be should be watched first its part of there film discography and historical. Get back should be regarded as the extras.

I’m so glad MLH captured all that great footage over two studios and the rooftop for a month. Priceless! However, after feasting on Get Back with Jackson’s storytelling, technology and the ability to stretch out to 8 hours, the original still comes off as a hatchet job, editing wise. The restoration of the imagery was appreciated, but the original “cut” really cut to the chase, then cut out the chase, and we had songs that often didn’t sync well. Sorry, and thanks, to Micheal Lindsay Hogg. You captured some real magic, and left most of that on the cutting room floor. “Get Back to where you once belonged…”

There are a lot of criticisms that are fair, of each of the 4 members, but to criticize Paul for wanting to do a live performance, or to make a movie of it, is way off base. Thank Ringo for encouraging George to go up on the roof, because of that everyone gets to see their final performance as a band. It is not out of line for a member of the most popular band on the planet to want to try another live performance.

Why would you want to go back to the dismal vibe of Let It Be after the more positive, fun mood of Get Back?

Extremely disappointed that The Beatles team elected to this release on disney+. It should have received a limited theater release and then off to streaming. I will choose to pass and not subscribe to disney and rely on my original VHS, albeit poor quality, but also my high-quality Euro, DVD bootleg, until the official DVD release occurs. I was underwhelmed by the re-release of the Let It Be box set so this latest disappointment with the film completes the bookends.
