With all due respect, and I sincerely do have heaps of respect for what Jarryd Hayne has done to take the utmost advantage of his lucky breaks; but c'mon, man! The very fact that you are a FRACTION of a FRACTION of the 1% AT MOST of impoverished people who can make it out of poverty IS PROOF POSITIVE - QUITE HARSHLY REAL AND SAD - THAT NOT "EVERYONE" CAN "SET THEIR MIND TO BE" AND JUST WORK THEIR WAY OUT OF SOCIALLY IMPOSED CENTURIES-IN-THE-MAKING PREJUDICES AND A WORLDWIDE SOCIETAL DISTASTE FOR THOSE WHO "CHOOSE" TO BE BORN IN IMPOVERISHED GHETTOS, FALL LIFE-DISABLING ILL, BECOME IMPOVERISHED AFTER THEY'VE BECOME TOO OLD AND FEEBLE TO WORK, LOSE THEIR LIFE SAVINGS BECAUSE OF GANGSTER BANKS SCREWING OVER THE WORLD'S ECONOMIES, ETC., ETC., ETC.! Congratulations, very sincerely, to you for being among those VERY FEW RELATIVE TO THE WHOLE who have made it out of poverty because you can play an athletic sport with hard earned skill. BUT DON'T GO IMPARTING MASSIVELY FALSE HOPE FOR THE SAME TO THE MANY MILLIONS, IF NOT BILLIONS, OF KIDS WORLDWIDE - EVEN IN THE WEALTHIEST OF NATIONS - WHO WILL NEVER - AS IN NEVER, EVER - GET THE FEW LUCKY BREAKS YOU GOT EVEN IN YOUR EXTREMELY DIFFICULT UPBRINGING. It is just not statistically possible for MOST - AS IN MORE THAN 99% - to "work" their way out of poverty IF THEY ONLY "SET THEIR MIND TO BE!" How about cutting out the humblebragging, Jarryd, now that you have beaten the overwhelming odds and financially made it, and show some true humility for the MASSIVE GREAT GOOD LUCK that was THE ESSENTIAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOU AND THE NEXT IMPOVERISHED ATHLETICALLY TALENTED KID GETTING OUT OF A PREDETERMINED LIFETIME PRISON SENTENCE OF POVERTY? You truly are a man greater than one in a million, Jarryd, BECAUSE THE STATS SAY YOU ARE FAR CLOSER TO ONE IN A BILLION THAN A MERE ONE MILLION - AS THE LUCKY EXCEPTION TO WHAT MAHATMA GANDHI CALLED THE MOST CRUEL FORM OF VIOLENCE - POVERTY. And furthermore, for all that I do love having rowed for a college crew, played American football and baseball, and then having gotten my nephews, nieces and young cousins interested in sports of all kinds, WHAT DOES IT REALLY SAY ABOUT HUMANITY IN THIS 21ST CENTURY THAT A GLORIFIED KID'S SPORT ON FINANCIAL STEROIDS IS ONE OF THE VERY FEW - IF NOT ALL TOO OFTEN THE "ONLY" - MEANS FOR A TALENTED KID TO ESCAPE THE PRENATALLY IMPOSED PRISON OF POVERTY? Okay, all of you soccer hooligans and other merely bipedal life forms trying your best to imitate human beings, that's the cue for you to start flinging your feces my way.
