Grace, here are the correct lyrics to the song. I realize that you are not a native English speaker, but good job in transcribing it. Nonetheless, there really are very subtle nuances in the pronunciation that makes the difference in getting the right version of the song: Beautiful Dreamer (BD), wake unto me Starlight and dew drops are waiting for thee Sounds of the rude world heard in the day Lulled by the moonlight have all passed away. BD, wake on my song List' while I woo thee with soft melody ("List'" with an apostrophe is the shortened, poetic form for "Listen") Gone are the cares of life's busy throng, BD, awake unto me. (Repeated 2x) This Mandy Barnett song is a strange version of the song. They've tweaked some of the original lyrics and her lazy diction makes it even more inscrutable for non-native English speakers.

It’s a very old song but it is a beautiful version to nit pick on presentation is in my humble way childish. When we were children in 1945 we had a big windup gramophone and 78 records but the revival of this 1864 song sung by Mandy, Roy Orbison and others is a vast improvement.Being a Roy Orbison fan since for ever must say Mandy’s presentation is the best. My 21 year old granddaughter totally agrees with me, which on music is a first. I would add I it’s simplicity of presentation is perfect.
It's NOT nit-picking. It's getting the lyrics right, thus honoring the composer and the way it was written. Who're you calling "childish"? Your excuse is such a LAZY ONE and a copout -- and no wonder that incorrect lyrics are perpetuated. You are a sloppy, slapdash fan of the song. Duh!!
Will always remember how my American friends never understood how I could sing this song with no accent. Brought up in a French Canadian home away from the English speaking world , they found it surprising that I could sing this better than some of their English friends. I told them my mother was the reason. The lady was a gem and made sure that her children could sing any songs she saw as special. She was right. I am not in my 80s and I still remember her at the piano with me and my 6 siblings being taught those beautiful words.
I remember a 90 yr old tiny lady & her daughter harmonizing together as they sang this to me. She had dementia, but knew every word. Beautiful memories.
Grace, if I may say; I think she does an incredible job on this lovely old song. The way she shows a depth of feeling and warmth that has to come from her heart... is captivating. This is a pretty song! I first heard it by whoever played Tonya in Lego Friends. Lol. Exept it was harder to figure out the words and she sounded like a real onstage singer. She sounded beutiful, too. I tottaly can say that this song is officially my favorite song. I love it. It's beutiful. Can't find a normal star, so I'll just use diamonds. (Max = 5) 💎💎💎💎💎 Loved it!
