Caruso, is an italian song, written, composed and performed in 1986 by Lucio Dalla as a tribute to Enrico Caruso, the most famous tenor of his time (late 19th / early 20th century). He was the first global singing superstar. The story is about the last days of Enrico Caruso, he knows he is dying, and he is remembering all his career on stage and telling his much younger wife how much he loves her. For Lara, this song is really important as this is a kind of anthem for Italy, and she is so much connected to this country. She spent the first few years of her life there with her sicilian mother and grandma. Her husband is also sicilian. She also has been living there for the past few months since the end of 2022.

Welcome to the party! Now that you have discovered who many people consider is the greatest female vocalist, if you choose to follow more of Lara's performances ANY song from this concert is a great start. In later years the various concerts she did in Russia in collaboration with conductor/pianist Igor Krutoy are amazing. At the Kremlin Palace she performs songs in English, French, Italian, Spanish and Russian. The live concert in Paris where the fans decide to show the love they have for her by serenading her with her song Je t'aime is truly an emotional experience. To sing like that God has to breathe through you. Lara Fabian is absolute top shelf material when it comes to female vocalyst. I had her a number one, edged out just recently by Diana Ankudinova (personal preference, in nothing defines the true value of either of them). Her voice is crystal clear and powerful as anyone. Emotive as needed. A true diva, even if she seems like just a normal fun loving down to earth person in every interview and documentary I've seen of her. She would be friends with Ankudinova, they share the same personality and mischevious twinkle in their eyes.

Lara is world class brilliant

One of Dimash's idols. And they have sung together and it was amazing. She is superb.

Enrico Caruso was the GOAT, Greatest Of All Tenors, who died in 1921 of pleurosy and poisoning of the blood; He was more than the Pavarotti of his day, and he performed extensively at the Metropolitan Opera, in America. The woman is is bride, who was some 20 years his junior. The song also lingers on the view from the terrace or balcony of the seaside resort where spent his final days, There are many recordings, (some unfortunately fake) of Caruso performances from the WWI era.

Lara won the heart of Dimash when he was 12. He will always adore her and YES! She has been a great influence on his musical career. They were finally able to meet at a huge Igor Krtoy birthday party where they got to sing together.
