WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS! Lara Fabian "Je T'aime" 

Lara is magical. Few has her stage presence and her vocal quality. I highly recommend "Je suis malade". It is about missing someone so much that you make yourself ill, life becomes colorless. The lyrics really hit home for real.

Lara was facing hard times , both on the personal (health, love betrayal and breakup) and professional (her progress blocked in the US by her own record company) sides. Her fanbase knew most of it and wanted to show support and they used this song, one of her biggest hits in France, replacing the title” Je t’aime / I love you” by “On t’aime / We love you”. I love how Lara, after the initial surprise, establishes a beautiful dialog with the crowd, giving them room to sing with her. It shows how benevolent and humble she is. The song itself is a gem, it was as I said one of her songs that reached the top 10 in France charts. But it even grew bigger after it and has become now a french classic, her most iconic french song. It is still attracting a lot of covers from the young french and canadian vocalists generation (Amir, Jeck, …). Most frenchmen know the song by heart. Surprisingly, it was also a massive success in russia and eastern europe: she became a superstar there thanks to it (and 15 years before her lengthy collaboration with Igor Krutoy that extended this even further) and the song is a MUST in russian karaoke and a recurrent in russian singer contests. Again many covers of this songs from eastern europe talents: Polina Gagarina, Sevara Nazarkhan, Katerina Maslova, Natalia Tsarikova, … As always with her biggest hits, Lara has performed it in many different ways: • Intense and powerful at World Music Awards 1999, • Subtle and delicate in her En Toute Intimité 2003 tour. • Classy and moving, performing with 2 vertebrae broken, at Royal Albert Hall in London (2011) • Jazzy in a recent perf (2018) with a band from Quebec The lyrics are also mesmerizing. Despite the title, it is not a classic love song but a breakup song instead. “Je t’aime” was written by Lara Fabian and Rick Allison, her longtime music producer and composer. He also had been her boyfriend for a few years, at the start of her career. This song was written when their love evolved to a friendship and a professional relationship . It speaks about a couple splitting while still having a lot of sentiments one for the other.

Lara allows the audience to sing the first voice. The pianist begins to play on the singing of the fans. Lara sing the second voice and dances with her voice around the singing of the fans So moving and so well done. Always an simple dressing ...No jewellery...Very soft make up ...No flashy fingernails ... Lara is always very natural, the only thing the audience gets is the stunning 4.2 octaves voice and her captivating performance.

This video is a "different" way to be introduced to Lara Fabian. It's more about how much she touches her fans and how much she is loved. She doesn't do a lot of singing in this. But, once you start listening and watching her live performances, you will probably recognize her brilliance as a performer and maybe the greatest singer there is. She has a range like no other and literally lives every word and emotion that comes out of her. She's just amazing!

This moment in time is so wonderful..This is what Lara is all about. For me she is the most wonderful voice of her generation. She is masterclass and beyond. Any song from her concert "From Lara with love" will blow your mind. I am a huge Nightwish fan and a prog guy . I could never imagine listen to this kind of music. Lara changed that big time. Very nice reactiotn to this emotional performance. A must see for all Lara fans is her famous concert "From Lara With Love" live in Montreal. It has many beautiful songs including Je Suis Malade, Adagio,Love By Grace, You Are Not From Here, Pedere L'amore, Curuso, Broken Vow, I Will Love Again, l Am Who I Am. There are also many other spectacular performances like Yentil Medley live from the Molson Center and "Always" performed live at the opening of the 2011 Asian winter games before ninety thousand people.

Lara, to me, is the best vocalist ever! Je’suis Malade is the absolute live performance! Apparently during this time, she and her ex split up and his BF is the piano player. She didn’t want to do this concert. However, the piano player insisted. He knew it could get her out of her funk. Only for this to happen! I absolutely love Lara Fabian.

This clip gives you an idea of her celebrity but not much on her voice. As most will recommend I'm sure, I suggest you react to "Je suis malade". Another artist I recommend is a young man who had Lara Fabian as one of his inspiration as a child and who is now considered by vocal experts as the best voice on the planet. She definitely has a great voice. I'm not a hundred percent sure if the style would be musically something I would listen to, She will definitely pull you in emotionally. This performer can definitely sing, and I appreciate what they are doing, but this style of music is not for me. Taking nothing away from them,it's just not anything I would ever listen to. Not a style for me.
