Just gorgeous! The piece was beautiful before but it is spectacular now! The Rose's add dimension and the sea spray gives it an old world feel.....I just want to touch it! Soooooo I'm painting today. Took a break yesterday to get extra supplies and food and mask...hope you and family continue to be safe....my two sisters went to Germany in early December...they have a family members in WORMS, Germany. The pictures are beautiful from their trip.....soooo much history!
Hello Crys'Dawna, I have been working with moulds for the first time on my bedroom furniture and I used air dry clay. Do you have an opinion on the clay vs. the resin? At this point the pieces are done but I have other projects in mind for the moulds so I'm curious what your thoughts are. Thank you so much! As always your videos are so helpful and inspirational :) Cheers
It's amazing how Everytime I get stuck on color choices for a project or how to solve a prep issue, I open RU-vid and there you are with a video of EXACTLY what I need!! Thanks for your consistent and most helpful content. Love what you do! You're definitely one of the greatest! 🩷🩷🩷
Hi it's me again lol Kerrie Divine Designs Furniture in Alberta Canada.. So finally found the right piece to try this whole process!!! BUT unfortunately it's black ...sooo.. What do you suggest should not just do 3 coats of drop cloth? Or the clear DB boss primer ? Will the primer interrupt the process .. probably not I'm guessing But always ask the pro first😎😎👍
Hi. Well Im u. FRANCE, and I purchased a lovely set of dîner table and chaises, french style. I want to do to a modern farmhouse chic look, using the base light colours of the new brand of Dixie Belle silk all in one, my 2 question are; 1) should I use wax or glaze, to enhanse the beautifull wooden details? 2) can I use silk all in one over cane surfaces, the chairs are wood and cane. Thank you and bravo for your lovely work.
Hi Maria!! I think using the glaze would be beautiful to enhance the details!! You definitely can paint cane with the all in one paint!!! you can even paint fabric with it!!
Obviously you manage to pull off all styles of furniture painting. Kudos to you. Love this piece. I will say that it helps that the piece was so very nice to begin with. Usually they are costly and unless I plan to keep it for myself it isn't very profitable to sell. Off topic, but noting you are painting in your home, why is your living room furniture all wood??? hahaha Is it the tale of the 'shoe maker not having shoes?' Why don't you have some of your pieces on display for your use? hmmmmm......
Sydni Moser Lol I have one piece in my house that is raw wood everything else is painted :) I agree we spend so much time creating we rarely create for ourselves, I actually did a lot of piece for myself during the height of the quarantine :) so I live in Germany so the feeling for furniture is different than other places people really like ikea and don’t want the older or more ornate piece so I am lucky and able to grab them for cheaper at the thrift stores :)
Like but something is not quite right Is out of your comfort zone him and that doesn’t really resonate with me I’m highly intuitive I just I don’t think I like the sea spray at all I suppose it would have a place in certain things like if you were making a moon is the boat has a lot of texture but on a piece like that it just doesn’t work for me I think the colors were pretty good I probably would’ve preferred it to be a little more smooth and the top I feel is missing some thing but the other part is it doesn’t feel like it’s been completely finished like there needs to be a sealant on it or something that’s no reflection on you and I think you do a superb job I watch pretty much every video you put out I just subscribed even though I’ve been following you for a little while I really like your channel I like what you do
Thank you for the feedback, I am sure there are many things I would change if I went back. It was a custom piece as well so I did what my client wanted :)
That turned out absolutely beautiful! I am not a fan of the seaspray but you make it look flawless. I have a french provincial bedroom suit I bought second hand and have been trying to figure out what to do with it. Cant decide on a color or moulding for it. I cant seem to trust my judgement on it. Lol. Just me. Hard for me to commit to a color because I like so many. I intend to keep it for myself. Not sure how well the seaspray will hold up in the long run. I fear it will start chipping off. I love the color combination on your piece. You do beautiful work.
Hi Connie!!! it will hold up just fine, especially if you do it more fine. If sea spray isn't your thing you could just do this and omit the sea spray. Just paint the piece the colors you want and then do the moulds and wax :)
Bella Renovare by Crys’Dawna Thank you for replying. I have a niece who lives in Germany. She has Cystic Fibrosis and had a double lung transplant a few years ago. She is an angel straight from Heaven. I was able to travel to see her for her 21st birthday. She is now 39!! Germany was beautiful. I hope you stay safe. Thank you for your videos. I also watch Brandy. She is another awesome talent for sure. ❤️😀
This was very educational.,Cry’s..The colors are so soft and feminine. I’ve only used sea spray one time and didn’t know what I was doing, , so this was very helpful. Love your videos! ❤️
@@BellaRenovare ok, I’ll get off your back (lol) but keep reading those labels and please promise you’ll try to be careful if there’s a solvent involved, ok? ❤️
I just had a quick question, if I wanted to put the amazing casting resin over an area where drawers connect, can I cut through it so the drawers open? Or is the resin a little too thick to cut through?
hey there!!!! okay so once you create the moulds they are pliable but over time they get really hard so you will want to cut it right away orrrrrr some people have reheated them in water or with a blowdried, you can definitely cut it just do it while its pliable :)
Thank you!! so the wax I use is water based so I USE scrubby soap or a light dish soap to clean them, I don't clean them after every use because they don't really "dry" up like paint, it just depends on if I am switch wax colors :)
It has been a long time since you posted this video, but I wanted to ask something hoping you will answer :) Most of the sources that I have been checking have suggested paper clay for furniture molds. Can you explain why you chose resin? Thank you so much for these videos! I adore them!
@@user-eo4sb2nr5d no problem at all!! Also right when the resin has set they are flexible, if they harden you can hit them with a hairdryer or warm water and it flexes them back up :)
Really love this one. Even before the tea rose was applied, so good. Hope you can find more pieces like this to transform and I hope you never get tired of painting! I'm catching up on some of your older videos, they are just what i need. Would love to get your color advice on a few pieces i have thrifted. Love what you do!
I sanded the texture After I put the tea rose on I didn't knock it down because I made sure it was fine and even. I did it on the sides too, and waxed the edges. I think I have a picture over on my facebook :)
Really enjoyed this. It is what. I envision for a French country bar from my Grandparents and a China cabinet from thrift store to liven up the furniture and dining room. Thanks so much for showing us how you did this! Very lovely look.
I absolutely LOVE this piece. You are soooo good at what you do. I'm fixing to tackle my antique bedroom suite so I've been getting ideas from you. Thank you
Giiiiirrrrrllll... wow, just wow. I’m not gonna lie, when I saw the original piece I was like, “nooooooo, don’t do it!!!” However, just like every other video I’ve watch of yours, it turned out stunning! I’ve got a couple of very unique pieces of furniture, but I just don’t think I could ever bring myself to paint them. Of course if I had your eye for color, and your amazing talent, then I might give it a try. Maybe I’ll try on some smaller (cheaper) pieces first. LOL. BTW, thank you for your sweet note back to me on a comment I left on another video! I want to thank YOU for your service as well. You don’t look old enough to have served yourself, and have a husband who has been in the military for 20 years!!! We owe such a debt of gratitude to all of you who serve our country. I pray that you will be able to finish out your time of deployment and return home (wherever home might be) safe and sound. I keep all of you in my prayers daily!! Keep those videos coming!!
Bella, great video, how much paint do you have! You doing this full time, you must of spent a small fortune on paint? What's the Dixie Belle Metallics like? are they as good as many have described. Amazing work and greatly inspired!
I’ve been religiously watching your videos since finding you on RU-vid! I love how well you explain the process you use and WHY. I have a question though: if you have a painted piece of furniture, do you need to strip it before painting it over with the chalk paint?
I'm not a crafter per say, but I'm working on it.. I just discovered Dixie Belle on the internet and fell in love with their colors.. I even drove 15 miles to a different town to check it out.. I live in a big city but had to go to a small town to find it.. I didn't know anyone on u-tube that used it, but u-tube sent me your video... So interesting.. I love this piece.. I doubt I will ever be able to do this but, I'm gonna work on smaller thing's.. New sub.. Can't wait to see more of your videos.. ❤️🤗❤️
I am leaving a message for you that doesn’t pertain necessarily to the tutorial you’re doing. I couldn’t find a place on your site that could answer my question. I would like to know generally how do you decoupage some thing to a furniture piece. I’m not doing a transfer I’m doing pages that I have colored over a period of time. I’m putting them in drawers or underneath pieces I am starting to do. I’ve tried gluing it down and then covering with clear coat of course Moving the bubbles and wrinkles out as I lay it down. The pencils I use are wax-based and the color seems to be bleeding as I apply clearcoat. Any suggestions? Thank you
Hi. I'm new to your channel. I love the way you explain the steps and I like the way you show the products. One quick question is that spray the same thing as a product called salt wash? Thank you.
Is the texture underneath supposed to be mimicking having painted over an old surface? I don’t quite understand the use of it. I live in Florida and use that sea spray to mimic pealing weathered wood but I sand it to show different colors underneath.
Bella Renovare by Crys’Dawna you have to check out this artist’s YT channel. She has the prettiest pink hair like you. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wf4DTiHTcjU.html
Another BEAUTIFUL piece!! So glad I watched because I was struggling with a piece but now I know more of what I’m looking for. Very inspiring! Thank you so much!! 😊
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this look. French Country with a touch of Old World. The color is amazing and the Sea Spray gives it an extra touch that can't be achieved with just paint. Thanks for a great tutorial !!
This is so elegant Crys’Dawna! You have a new comfort zone now. Such good advice, to step out of our comfort zone. I like so many different styles, that I end up getting overwhelmed making a decision. Thank you for the tutorial and the awesome encouragement. Happy New Year!! 💕
Absolutely gorgeous 💞 I was just wondering if you did the sides the same way? Like did you do the edges of the sides with the gray wax and then got lighter towards the middle? TFS😊😊
"It's Free99!" Yes! Sending long distance hugs and thank you for another great tutorial. I adore the roses, but I kind of wish they kept more of the pink and less of the grunge. That's just me; not a reflection on your work at all, because it truly does look beautiful. Stay healthy!
Im so happy I found you onyoutube! I love your videos, your super cute and you are a good informative teacher. I have been re-beautifying old vintage furniture for a long time but I love learning new stuff or different ways to do stuff.... so thank you.... good job sista
Jodi Lynn I am sooooo glad you found me too!! I try to improve my videos more and more and more!!! You are so welcome, thank YOU for hanging out with me!!
Absolutely love this piece. New subbie here. Your work is beautiful. Thanks for the great tips, always nice to hear about the products and how to use them.
