I have had some experience of those Chinese single cylinder diesel engines, and I would recommend that to reduce the likely hood of balance shaft bearing failure you replace the factory fitted caged bearings with high quality maximum fill bearings. There are two balance shafts with a bearing at each end and the factory fitted caged bearings are prone to failure with catastrophic results.

KEEP SPARE VOLTAGE REGULATOR FOR ALTERNATOR STARTER CIRCUIT AND GENERATOR VOLTAGE REGULATOR IN A FARADAY CAGE FOR EMP AND CME PROTECTION...SPARE BELT IN CELOPHANE AS THEY AGE AND CRACK OVER TIME. SAME FOR HOSES AND FILTERS. YOU MAY NEED SEVERAL FILTERS IN AN EMERGENCY BECAUSE FUEL WHEN AVAILABLE MAY BE CONTAMINATED. A FUEL AND WATER SEPARATOR WOULD BE HELPFUL.
Beautiful job, I like your custom alternator mount. Everything looks well engineered, I was happy you showed the electric radiator fan come on. Nice layout too, your engine fit perfectly on the frame. I do like the belt drive, I'd thought about direct coupling but you can get exactly the right RPM for both the pump and the engine. Are the wheels cast iron?

Thank you! It depends on the gear ratio. If your alternator has a 150mm pulley and you want your generator to run at 1500rpm, then your engine will reach 1500rpm, if its pulley is also 150mm.

ZS engines don't have lub oil filters, so I can explain how to fit one and that should be the first thing before you complete the generator. I was just lucky enough to find a brand new engine that was being sold for parts, because it was illegal to sell as a running engine.
