Beautiful Small Personal Submarine Underwater Video by SEAmagine

Beautiful underwater footage filmed in February 2015 using a small personal submarine from SEAmagine (www.seamagine.com) . The diving took place at Cocos Island in Costa Rica in conjunction with Misión Tiburón (misiontiburon.org) an organization that promotes the conservation of sharks and other marine species. The video shows the abundance of sea life at Cocos’ marine sanctuary from the shallow depths to the very deep unexplored regions where a rare Prickly Shark was found during this expedition at a depth of 340m (1115 ft).
Enjoy the video and help us protect our oceans - the video aims to show why it is worth it.

Ihaveausernametoo Unfortunately the real liquid breathing device only works for a short period of time. difficult to purge co2 and replenish o2 in solution. The perfluorocarbon solution has successfully used to help premature babies, but only if there are large quantities of the fluid avalible or a co2 stripper and 02 re-generator available. Basically, although plausible , it has yet to be perfected for diving like in the movie Abyss.

+Mazda rx7 I know. It's great of you to post the info though (I don't have a keyboard here) as it's _very_ interesting. Unfortunately not much research seems to go into it. Tapping into the femoral vein to extract co2 seems even more scary than choking down the solution. I just ordered the OpenRov 2.8 kit. It feels like a much less costly and risky way of having a look around. =)

The SEAmagine website says acrylic, and they can be rated for anything from 150 meter (492 ft) and all the way down to 1000 meter (3280 ft).

That trickle of water was caused by the humidity of their breath cooling and forming condensation against the colder glass dome

Zero leaks happen in SEAmagine submersibles. That water was natural internal condensation. Congrats for paying close attention!! ;)

Really cool , but this is DEFINITELY something I could never do. If there’s one thing I’m truly terrified of it’s the ocean and what’s in it . I guess I watch to many RU-vid videos ? IDK but there’s nothing more scary to me then the depths of our oceans . And even these explorations of only a couple hundred feet would make me nervous just being in this Sub . My luck the glass would crack a water would fill that thing in seconds leaving me in a water tomb . But thanks for sharing 👍🏻

fantastic, I'm just a few million short. how do they return to service in an emergency? like a total system failure. Is there an 'airbag' which you can inflate to return you to the surface? a gas canister that empties the ballast?

What I want to know is how long was that dive in actuality !?! Was that a one hour dive or more like 3 or 4 ? Do they have to decompress going that deep ?!?

They're in a submarine which has an internal atmospheric pressure of one bar, it's just like being at 0 ft sea level. They do not have to decompress. Tech Divers that have gone down several hundred feet take hours upon hours to decompress because they are breathing at pressure, these guys have their own atmosphere in the sub, thus the intense pressure on the hull.
