Deep Cocos Island (My first submarine!)

This is one of the best videos I've seen on this channel! The quality of the videos here is so high, it really deserves wayyyyy more subs. This channel is so underrated. You can tell Jonathan's childlike fascination with the oceans and blue-world. It is contagious and never ceases to draw me into his videos. Well done!!!

You know what this video has convinced me of? That we need a joint NOAA/NASA project to create a undersea version of the ISS; a permanently submerged, mobile (unlike Aquarius) underwater lab large enough for several researchers to explore the oceans to nearly all depths. The lab could be maintained much like the ISS is today, with frequent supply drops and a regularly rotating crew of international divers and marine specialists conducting as many studies as they can to exponentially enhance our understanding of those two-thirds of our planet, along with the bulk of it's lifeforms.

I love these shows! I just started diving last year at age 55 so these shows "get me under" a little more and educate me. They will enrich the dives I make

What a fascinating journey. This remined me of the adventures of the Shark Observation Vehicle used to observate white sharks in SA. It is nice to see some proper tech and money being imployed for oceanic research.
