Appreciate it! The warm season guide, cutting regularly and the bio stem pack have really transformed my lawn! Thanks for watching bro. Glad you enjoyed it.
I'm in North Texas (Dallas) and I have St Augustine. I mow twice a week on the mower's highest setting ... about 4". I keep the blade sharp and I box the clippings every one-in-three cuts. I always water at night. My grass has never looked so green, thick and lush ... even after a hot 100 degree day.
@Ismael Rodriguez I don't have any issues with fungus. I water only once or twice per week during the summer; not every night ... so it's really no different to an overnight rainfall. As we've cooled off, I'm now watering once per week. I do occasionally get mushrooms appearing in the morning, but providing they are reasonably spread out, that just indicates healthy soil with lots of microbial activity, breaking down the old clippings. (Having tall grass helps this process). During the summer, I feed my St Augustine with one of the very cheap home-made Jerry Baker lawn tonics in a hose end sprayer, every few weeks. (Search for Jerry Baker on RU-vid). The coke, beer, mouthwash, ammonia and dish soap ingredients all help. Btw, leave your grass long over winter. Don't scalp it or cut it short. Long grass will help insulate the roots during any freezes and it will also help crowd out weeds such as Poa Annua (Bluegrass). Your lawn is very excellent, I like it friend! How often do you cut it? and how many fleas do you leave leaf? or 1/3 of leaves you cut, and how often you apply fertilizer, thanks in advance.
Thanks man! I cut twice a week on Monday and Thursday. The leaves i usually mulch about half a bag full every mow on the back yard the front yard doesn't really have any leaves. I usually fertilize once every 3 months so 4 times a year. Milorganite is my go to fertilizer. Glad you enjoyed the video hope this helps.
@@michaelvaldez4576 first i would get a soil test done. Soil savvy has a good one. Then after your test comes back apply the correct blend of (npk) fertilizer. For fungicide i use clearys 3336f liquid. For insecticide i use bifen xts liquid. Both can be found on DoMyOwn.com try to water 1" per week and enjoy the mow!
Hi. Yes i have a solution. This model of mower has this problem. There are many videos that solve this issue. You will need to remove the back wheels and grease the bushings.
That intro was too funny😂. I’m jealous of ur lawn. My St. Aug is struggling with the leaf spot fungus. I’ve applied Heritage G granules x2 and just a few days ago I sprayed the Eagle 20 Ew. I think I’m doing this wrong. Must I delay mowing after fungicide application? If so, how long ( I’m mowing twice a week at 4 inches). Must I mow lower than 4 inches? I just ordered the clearys 3336 and will apply it in 2 weeks. Frustrating fungus - been fighting it for 2months now and can’t get it to go away. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks man and excellent videos-keep posting them.
Try using peatmoss..theres videos on it..its good for take all patch but I would assume its good for all the other funguses as well and cut back on watering and let it dry out.
Thank you! Dont be jealous just stay diligent and it will get there. I would wait at least 3 days after a fungicide application before i mow it gives the plant plenty of time to absorb the application and bag your clippings until the disease is 75% gone. You should probably also get a soil test done because if your soil is lacking a nutrient or high in a nutrient it will cause multiple issues including the plants ability to absorb anything, including fungicide. Soil savvy make a good, simple soil test to get you on the right track. Also cut back on watering to let the soil dry out a bit. Fungus thrives in wet conditions. The clearys is a great fungicide but if you soil is lacking it my have poor results. Hope this helps buddy.
I mostly run into nutsedge and dollar weed. Thats about it. Other that the occasional crab and signal grass. Also dove weed likes to grow in bare spots.
@@karbs76 cut it at 4" and cut regularly. I mow twice a week. You never want to cut more than 1/3 of the grass blade off the top so you can encourage the plan to grow lateral instead of vertical. It will fill in and get nice and thick, also fertilizer once a month with a good organic bio solid fertilizer. Sunniland all natural is my fertilizer of choice. Water 1" per week and thats about it. Remember the more you mow the better it will grow! Keep those blades sharp and good luck.
@@joshualeon3486 its a little over 5 years old. Ive been caring for it for 3 years so far the previous owner was a lawn nut himself and gave me the sod installation ticket so i knew the date and type. When i bought the house it was about half this thick. Over the ladt 3 years i added alot of organic compost and great fert program and it got super thick. No weeds can grow at all. I dont even use pre-emergent on the front. Its naturally 100% weed resistant besides when the neighbors crabgrass tries to creep over lol
