Yep Multiply Mask affects the entire track.

Mine just doesn't transition like yours. It keeps on going black.

Right at the end of the effect, split the video and move it above one track, and it will work.

Yes, on the third track insert your video or photo, on the second track select Make Compositing Child.

Use a solid color, put it under the video track and select child. I have a video on it if U want to search them.
