If after you make your mask and you don't see the pan and crop window any more, click on the bottom left box that says "Position". It is above the check box that you click for "Mask". Then it should pop back up with the 'F'. Good luck!
hi from Saint Petersburg (Russia) and i'd love to say thank you sooooo much for your videos. you can't imagine how you helped me with specifically this video. that's exactly what i wanted. frankly, i've just today found your channel (what a shame i didn't do that months ago) and immediately subscribed. i've already watched 5 videos and really see what a hard work lays behind them. once again - thank you sooooo much! you are cool. by the way you have a very nice voice.
Thank you for the kind comment Marsel. I'm happy to see you acknowledging the hard work I put into these videos to keep up the high quality standard. It means a lot to me!
I found it fun to edit with Sony Vegas, but I didn't know how it worked and how to make some special things. I learned most of my editing skills from your videos. Keep up the good work!
My pleasure! I like Sony Vegas a lot more because of this specific reason. Even if you have an older pc or laptop it will still run and you will be able to edit your videos! I remember using After Effects on my older pc. I couldn't do anything.
Thank you Khmeng! I appreciate your kind comment and I'm happy that I was able to help you with this tutorial. This really means a lot to me! Even though a lot of people say that, I truly mean it. Without the support from you and all the other viewers I wouldn't be where I'm today. That's also the reason why I try to answer as many comments as possible. So thanks a lot! Hope to read many more great comments from you. If you ever need help or have question let me know. I will try my best to help you out. Have a great one!
Thank you very much man! I'm happy that you like the tutorials and I will surely keep on going and bring you even more cool stuff that you can learn from!
Thanks a lot Hao! I’m super happy that I was able to help you with my content so much. I do appreciate that you took that time of your day to write this kind comment. It really means a lot to me! Even though a lot of people say that but don’t actually mean it, I’m thankful for any kinda support from deep down of my heart. That’s also the reason why I’m trying to answer every comment I get, even when they become a little repetitive from time to time. I hope you gonna stay part of this awesome community and keep posting these cool comments! A lot of people underestimate just how much „just being active“ actually helps the content creator. Stay healthy and have a great one!
Watching again today :) I have a question: once I create the blue line in pan crop with mask, how do I get back the circle, rectangle and F so I can move the blue line? Like you do at 3:07. Help would be much appreciated, thank you :)
Hey there Tristian, I'm happy I was able to help you and I'm glad you enjoy the content! Also, I do appreciate that you took that time of your day to write this short but sweet feedback. It really means the world to me. A lot of people say they appreciate their viewers but do not truly mean it. I'm the opposite, I really try to answer every comment because I'm happy to help people out and see how much they appreciate it. So once again, thanks a lot for your support!

Really great tutorial. Some of the info was a bit quick for me, but I'll watch it a couple more times as I'm working with Vegas tomorrow and I think I'll be able to follow along. We just subscribed!
I don't think it would be that useful because it's better to learn from the tutorial and be able to recreate such thing by yourself. Keep in mind that as soon as you are able to create such title you will be able to use some of the techniques shown in the tutorial in other projects as well! I hope for your understanding!
Hey there, I simply open up the pan & crop window, zoom onto the thing I would like to highlight, move forward within the pan & crop timeline and reset the pan & crop by right-clicking into the frame and selecting the option "Restore". Then I right-click on the keyframes that have been created on the timeline and smooth them by selecting the option "Smooth out". This will create the effect you are looking for. I hope I was able to help you! Have a great day!

@@jaytaylor7985 Hey Jay, glad you could fix it yourself! I was just about to tell you. I remember when I used to do a lot of masking sometimes switching the "magnet tool" on and off and then forgetting about it was quite annoying. :D
jo klasse Video aber weißt du wenn ich mehrere von diesen texten machen will das am schnellsten geht ohne wirklich die Animationen jedes mal ändern zu müssen?
Thank you very much! If you give me some examples on what kinda lower thirds you would like to learn I can definitely do another tutorial in the future!
Is there a reason why I don't have the "maske" option ? Do I need to add something to Sony vegas? I've been wanted to follow your tutorials , but always have to stop when I get to the maske Fx
Hey great video, I'm actually just trying to figure how to get that effect you have with your captions throughout the video (the one that says tutorial starts at 1:07) I can't get the black bars around my titles I'm assuming there's something small I'm missing but it's beyond me, any help is greatly appreciated
I´m not quite sure if I understood you correctly, but here´s how I would simply do it: -Get a ".png" picture of "blackbars" from Google, put it onto you timeline and mask out the top black bar. Mask out the left and the right side of the bottom one (2 seperate masks) and set the fether value to whatever you prefer. - Drag a text onto the timeline above the solid and that´s it => Dragging a picture of blackbars onto your timeline is way easier and faster than always creating a mask on a solid (in my opinion) Hope I could help you with that! If not, feel free to say so.
Hey Sean, Timme already gave you one way of creating the effect. You can also simply add a black color solid, place it above your video footage, create a rectangle mask by using the "Square or Rectangle Mask Creation Tool" and adjust the opacity of the color solid to the wished percentage. Now you can definitely recreate the effect! Have a great day!
Hey Timme, thanks for helping out Sean. This is really awesome to see people helping out each other within the comment section. Keep on going! Much love.
Good day, Sir, could you explain what you do in the moment of 3:09 you was selecting the line then the selecting were for the whole screen ( when you said after all that) could you explain please. 🌹 😘
After you are done creating the animation simply render it with a transparent background, import it back into VEGAS Pro and adjust the scale and position in the pan & crop. Hope this helped!
After you are done with the lower third, render the whole thing, put it back into VEGAS, right-click on it and select something that say s"play on reverse" I hope I could help you!
Hey man, can you make a tutorial on how to make a whip pan transition. Because you're the only one who knows what hes doing. oh and i hope you get better
Man, just a question, when you're working with the mask/position timelines you move the cursor on the video track and the cursor of the mask/position timelines simultaneously moves. How do you do that? Because I'm not able to do that :(
Hey there Faroda, thank you for taking the time of your day to write this comment. The answer is simple, within the "Pan & Crop/Masking" window there is a timeline. In the left lower corner of this timeline there is a small "lock" like looking icon. Click on it and it will sync the movement of your cursor within all the timelines! I hope I was able to help you. I would also appreciate if you stay part of this awesome community and post many more comments! This is really important to me because that's the only way we are able to grow and share my knowledge with many more people! You might not believe it but small things like dropping a like, posting a comment and watching the video itself support me tremendously. Have a good one!
So frustrating that nearly everything you do does not correspond or work like my Sony Vegas Pro 13. When I try to move my mask up or down to fit the size of the letters, the mask just takes on a weird shape. The segment option is grayed out Trying to insert key frames when the position on the video track does not track in the pan/crop window. Just two examples, probably 75% of what you show that does not work. When I copy and past the 2nd video solid color track to the 1st line, "Flip Horizontal" does not do any thing. I just keep deleting the whole process and starting over and over and over. How do you make the line in the Pan/Crop track the video track? How do you get the up/down of the mask window to move and not take on crazy shapes? What good is setting a marker when it does not show up on or track the Pan/Crop screen?
While having the "Pan & Crop" window open, turn of the "magnet" icon" this will prevent your mask from going crazy when moving it. If you want your pan, crop, masks to be tracked to the timeline, check the little box on the left of the timeline. This will sync up everything. I hope I could help you with your issues!
Hey there, I've just used the mouse wheel to scroll in and out so the mask adjusts more quickly when I play around the different mask segments while using the arrow keys. If you want to adjust a specific segment simply move your mouse on top of it until it highlights yellow, right-click on it and choose "select segment" then you can move it around with your arrow keys. Hopefully I was able to help you! For any more question feel free to comment again or send me a mail theletterisb@gmail.com
Good video, my only suggestion, when you speak. there is a lot of low end and mid punch that makes it hard to understand your voice sometimes, I would suggest EQ-ing your recording so your voice is a little easier to hear and understand. But other than that, great video once again! :D
My pleasure! Happy you liked the video. Also, thanks a lot for the comment! I really appreciate it because that's the only way I know if anything needs to be improved in future videos. Have a great day! Hope to see many more comments in the future coming!
Thank you so much for this video but I’m stuck 😢 can you please tell me what you did when you said “after all that” around 3:08? I cant move my line as I don’t get how your screen changed and the F showed... please help thank you so much!!
Move your mouse above the object you want to move, then left-click on it and move it with the arrow keys on your keyboard in the wished direction. I hope I could help you!
Hey Swizzy, can you explain the problem a little bit more in detail? I would love to help you. If you feel like you need to show me any screenshots feel free to send me a mail at theletterisb@gmail.com
Sometimes following a tutorial can be a little hard no matter how easy it might look. Just take your time, watch me closely and if you still need help because you might don't know what I did in a exact moment just let me know! Write the timestamp and I can explain the working process to you. It's all about trial and error. You will figure it out! That's how I learned from many great tutorials.
@@theletterisb First it worked for me but after i increased the length of the line Animation it started from middle of the video instead where it was or should be. I try my best thank you. I need this for school project ^^
Hey! I'm happy I was able to help you and I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Regarding the background music, I'm really sorry but I don't remember what song I used there. The only thing I can tell is that it was a song from the RU-vid music library. There you can find a lot of copyright free music!
Can you please help me something? I want to change a logo that says "World Of Tanks" to "World of Fun" and I dont know how do I do it. I want to be everything like it was just instead of "Tanks" I want "Fun". Please reply Asap
At 3:08 how we're u able to get that F there? And move it ur line? When I do it it changes the entire aspect of the screen. Idk if I'm explaining it right but I am unable to move the line because I can't get the F with the square around it again after I click on mask.
Make sure all the little icons next to the "Position", "Rotation" and so on tabs, look the same and are selected just as I have in the video. Then you can move the square while either using the arrow keys on your keyboard or by using your mouse! I hope I could help you!
When I go into PAN & CROP I do not have the "mask" option at the bottom left to select...?? I'm using sony vegas 13.. is there another way to select the masking option or do I have it disabled somehow etc..
