Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. “Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within. The film stars: Emma Watson as Belle; Dan Stevens as the Beast; Luke Evans as Gaston, the handsome, but shallow villager who woos Belle; Oscar® winner Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belle’s eccentric, but lovable father; Josh Gad as Lefou, Gaston’s long-suffering aide-de-camp; Golden Globe® nominee Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, the candelabra; Oscar nominee Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord; Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, the feather duster; six-time Tony Award® winner Audra McDonald as Madame Garderobe, the wardrobe; Oscar nominee Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, the mantel clock; and two-time Academy Award® winner Emma Thompson as the teapot, Mrs. Potts.
Directed by Oscar® winner Bill Condon from a screenplay by TBD based on the 1991 animated film, the film is produced by Mandeville Films’ David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman with eight-time Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken, who won two Academy Awards® (Best Original Score and Best Song) for the 1991 animated film, providing the score, which will include new recordings of the original songs written by Menken and Howard Ashman, as well as several new songs written by Menken and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice.

I wish they had given a deeper insight into the Prince's mother. I think it would fill the missing gaps of the story. We would get to know about their relationship and how the Beast is still suffering after his loss.

I would have loved to seen the interaction between Belle and Agathe the bread and jam. It may look like a small gesture, but I think it showed Agathe (The Enchantress) that there are people out there who can see past an outward appearance. I also would have loved to see the cut version of "Days In the Sun" in the movie. Harriet Jones is one of my favorite Christine Daaés from Phantom of the Opera, and I think having that little part of The Beast's mother in the movie would have shown where he got his compassion, kindness and humanity from.

It also would have explained why Agathe the enchantress also thought that Belle would be the best idea for the Beast if you kind of notice in the film there is almost a magical forcefulness to Belle finding the castle.

I loved these deleted scenes. The scene between belle and agatha would have shown the heart that belle had. I did notice the baguette disappear. It would have shown her caring nature for everyone around her. Giving her some BREAD AND JAM would have breathed more life to the film. I hope I win the book!

I love the remake of Beauty and the Beast! Especially the songs ;). I think it's one of Disney's best live action remakes of their animated classics. Belle gives Agatha bread and Jam.

I'm really sad they changed the song "Days in the sun." I felt that that could've been a heat warning moment that had people on there feels and more of a better story line. Belle gave her jam and bread. although this was a amazing movie I'm excited to see my personal favorite Disney move Mulan come to live action !!!

YES! It's now 2020 and they still have never released that deleted version of where the Prince emerges from the rose petals shirtless. To see that would be priceless. And it must be around somewhere....why not finally include in "deleted" scenes along with all the others?

Would have liked to have seen more of the Prince's mother, and perhaps more of his father! Agatha is given the baguette and jam by Belle :) I'm looking forward to Cruella though - especially if it's as good as Maleficent!

I think the scene with Agatha and Belle should be included. Where Agatha was given the Jam and Bread by Belle. You can really see how kind hearted she is. Also, the scene of little prince with the queen. Just to give us a little bit background. I would love to hear Days in the sun because every song in this movie is fantastic! Actually, I'm also curious why Cogsworth during the reunion with his wife. She called him Henry, instead of being happy he keeps on saying "turn back to clock". Grey area to me. Like are they in bad terms? He wanted to turn back to a clock? The deleted scene answered my questions haha. They really are in bad terms. Cogsworth, tho cursed still retained his memory yet he fought with his wife hahaha. To your next question, I would love to see "Brother Bear" the story is so beautiful and made me cry. If not Brother Bear, I think "Aladdin". I just saw a while ago Lea and Brad (the real singing voice of aladdin) singing a whole new world with alan menken after 25years since it was created 🎉 Still magical, It is like older Jasmine and Aladdin singing a whole new world after what they've been through. Thanks again for the deleted scenes 👍🏻

The deleted scene from clocksworth fighting in the battle was SO needed!!! Why did they cut it out, it was the pay off for all the moment were he wasn't brave enough to do something!

I really do feel bad about Harriet Jones having her scene almost entirely removed from the film! She must have been devastated. I'm surprised no one had noticed the similarity between the two of them (mother & Agathe) prior to the casting. I definitely think Agathe should have had a larger part in the film. It would have been nice to see Belles interaction with her (baguette + jam). It would have cleared up a few things!

I think Disney absolutely did a great job with the live action version. Before, I was skeptical that they would live up to the first but in the end I think they did just as good or maybe even better than it. Belle gives Agathe bread and jam :)

I love the movie, but felt it left me wanting more, and now that I’ve seen the deleted scenes I feel some of them would have added to the movie rather than taking away from it, no matter the running time. Such as the mob breaking through the gates, the princes mother singing to him would have been nice to see, and belle’s interaction with the enchantress in the village.

beauty and the beast was so beautiful. i loved alan menken's scores and everyone in the cast as they so perfectly fit their roles (especially their singing). but what i loved the most about live action version is that they stayed true to the original story and added more backstory to the lovable characters. belle gives agitha bread and jam, also her kindness ;) lol

Belle gives agathe jam and a baguette. I read the novel and I felt like the belle and agathe scene should have been added in. This is one of my favorite adaptation especially how they paid attention to detail. I love that Mrs. Potts had gold makeup when she is transformed back. It shows that was her makeup for the party but also matches the design of the China. I love in the intro how chip runs in the room to make it seem like he was at the wrong place at the wrong time. I also noticed that when the beast takes belle to Paris and she wants to go back, she doesn't say let's go back to the castle, she asked him to take her back home. It shows that Belle is slowly accepting the castle as home. I can't wait to see lion king.

I wish they had, like you said, redone the mother's scene with a dark wig. It pulls at your heart just imagining what it would have been like. It also would have made the scene with the Beast seeing Belle's childhood home more power. Sad that it was dropped. Unlike the other scenes it would have added a lot to the move. Belle gave Agatha a Baguette and a jar of jam.

It was a shame that the deleted scenes couldn’t have been used in the finished film, as they add so very much to the story. The two things that Belle gives to Agatha are a loaf of bread & a jar of jam.

I wish it they would've kept the Prince's mother singing the beginning of "Days in the Sun." I understand why Bill had to make the change but the actress was such an amazing singer! I completely agree with you, they should've made her hair either black or red, it would've only taken a wig! The original song was so amazing. Belle gave Agathe bread and jam!

MULAN! That would make a priceless action/romance film with Pirates of the Caribbean level intensity and humor. As long as they give it a proper Chinese cast and maintain the authenticity of Chinese culture and architecture while also adding the same magical Disney touch that made Beauty and Beast so great.

I think I've never a film that's so beautifully made. I'm just mind blown about every detail and it makes me want to work in that specific types of job even more! The scene with Agatha would have added to the relation between Agatha and Belle! And I would have loved to see th original version of Days in The Sun in theatre... Next animation film I want to see? I don't know, Beauty and The Beast was my biggest request but I would say, Mulan, if they don't remove the songs, because I love them!

It would've been really nice to see Agathe and Belle interact. I'm not sure why they decided to cut that scene, especially because she's only onscreen when Gaston points to her for a couple of seconds. The first time I saw the movie, I couldn't remember who she was when she came to save Maurice from the wolves.

I would honestly love to see more scenes with the Beast's mother. It is a shame that there some scenes deleted, I adored them. It would have been so much more powerful and moving if they were included (and humorous in relation to the mob scene fights inside the castle). However, this is a step many movies have to take to appease the audience and I am just happy we were given such an amazing film. This live action is probably one of my favorites Disney has made so far. And I love the soundtrack. It is absolutely lovely and the fact that is original and not in either the movie nor the musical makes me really happy as well. Especially 'Evermore,' Dan Stevens gave such a stellar and emotionally raw performance.

Beauty and the beast has been a great part of my life since I was about 3. Emma Watson is my superhero, she participates in my 2 favorite movies ( Harry Potter & Beauty and the Beast) and brought color and light to them. Sincerely she is a Hero.

I heard somewhere about the change in the scene of Days in the Sun and you just confirmed it ! I would have loved to see the original scene... it gives you more context about the back story of the Beast. Belle gives a bread and jam to Agathe!!

I agree that they should have dyed the mom’s hair so she could sing and differentiate between her and Hattie. I also think they should not have deleted the added lyrics to “Kill the Beast.” Belle gave Agatha bread and jam.

And i saw the deleted song version of Days in the song, and it also looked like Belle also had sung some different lines that was no in the film version, and even Beast had some lines where in the film he didn't sing at all. The film ended up with a total of 2 hours and 9 minutes, which again is longer then any of the more recent remakes of the Disney live action versions of the animated movies.

Belle give Agathe a baguette and jam. I love the movie and was so happy it was changed into live action. I loved Evermore as Belle was leaving the castle, it was such a cute moment but it bought a tear to my eye. I would've loved the scene when they are walking to the castle which is symbolic for the beast scaring them away.

I actually think they all were really necessary to the movie and should have been in it. They all either cleared up things that happened in between scenes that were confusing other wise or just added more context to the characters relationships and more charisma to the movie itself. They all were important, for example the scene with Belle giving Agatha bread and jam was really symbolic because it shows Belle is one someone who does not judge by appearance, a main theme in the movie, as well as showed her kindness. I thought it was a bit weird that in the final version Gaston says he's going to save Belle but we don't see him actually do it. The fighting scene would have clarified a lot of things that happened during it that changed things that happened after it, such as Lumiere and Cogsworth being on good terms. They also were just entertaining. The scene showing the Beast's mother would have been much sadder and more meaningful too, they could have just changed her hair color. Finally, I thought the Mob Song seemed really rushed in the movie and skipped the verse that you can hear in the soundtrack version, and the deleted scene would have added to the intensity as well as made it iconic with them storming the gates. A lot of the scenes were also just cool nods to the original. So In conclusion, I loved the movie but I feel it could have been even better with these scenes all included in it, as they all had some importance and helped clear things up, add to character depth or development and just add charisma. They should not have been deleted in my opinion, the movie wouldn't even have been that much longer anyway.

Bread and Jam that shows her kindness and explains why the bread is missing! I think both the lasses with the pitchforks as well as the saving Lumiere scene should have been kept in. I love books on the making of...I am a retired teacher out on disability and I love and adore how to books and t.v. shows!

I'd love to see the scenes between Agathe and Belle where she gives *bread and jam* to her and the song the queen sings to the prince. I'm really looking forward to more live action versions of Disney movies especially Mulan :)

I agree with the directors decision to cut some of the fights at the end, it would have made the film unnecessarily too long. I have the novelization and I really am sorry that the scene between Agatha and Belle was cut at the beginning. It really provided an interesting foreshadowing. I am also sorry that the bit with the mother was cut from the film. While it was implied in the film, it would have gone a long way to show that the Beast was hurting inside from the life that he might have lived if she had lived.

Hi Jen, I really love your channel. I also use it to improve my british English ;-) I loved the film very much and I think my favourite part was - besides more depth and sophistication and the extension of the characters - that the role of the enchantress was way more integrated into the story as in the animated film. It was great to see more of her, especially in the beginning of the film and when she nurses Maurice after Gaston had left him to die in the forest. *Belle gives Agatha a rustic baguette and a lovely jar of jam during the song 'Belle'. ;-) * Thanks for your work and best wishes from Germany :-D

i loved this movie and with/without the deleted scenes i wouldve loved it the same. I guess time was the only factor that wouldve changed and beauty and the beast was already quite long. belle gave agatha the magic disappearing baguette and a small jar of jam

Funny that the test audience thought The Queen and Agatha were the same. When I saw the movie, I thought that Agatha and Belle's mother were the same person. I honesty thought that The Enchantress was Belle's mother looking after her daughter in spirit. And when Maurice was being nursed by Agatha, I thought that it meant to be portraying reunited lovers during that scene.It definitely had that feel to it. Shame that they didn't go down that angle. And also, I would have loved to have seen the Belle giving Agatha the bread and jam scene, and the Gaston's intervention scene remain in the movie. I feel that those were needed to help make the plot more solid.

Thank you for making that video. I really enjoyed it. I want all of the deleted scenes, especially the scenes 'Agatha & Belle' and 'Young beast & his mother'. I like the gestures of Belle for the 'poor' Agatha. It makes Belle more over being a outsider but the kindest person in this little town of discourteous people. Answer: I one deleted scene Belle gives Agatha bread and jam. In the singing part Belle lost the bread, so we can see that there is a missing section (thank you to help me to see that

Belle gives Agatha the Bread from the Baker, and then is asked if thee is jam to go with it, which Belle looks at her, but pulls out the jam and gives it to her out of kindness and love.
