This was so wonderful to watch. I got especially watching Jerry Orbach. Jerry was a good family friend.. he was our neighbor and he was so incredibly kind. I remember when I was 6, Shrek came out and my parents didn’t have time to take me to see it. I was really sad and Jerry said he had it on tape, since he had to review it for an awards ceremony, so he and his wife had me over just to see it and I was so happy. He was such a thoughtful, caring, and fun person. We eventually moved to another part of the city and Jerry passed a way a few years later.. The most heartwarming thing to see now is that they renamed the street where our apartment was, where he lived, “Jerry Orbach Way” ❤️
He was always my favorite character on Law and Order. When I found out he voiced Lumiere it made me smile big time. I’m sorry for the pain his loss has brought you, but be comforted to know he brought joy to so many people. ❤
I didn't expect to literally burst into tears when Angela Lansbury started singing Beauty and the Beast! OMG. We are sooooo lucky to have grown up with her, Paige, Jerry, David, Robby and Richard! Thank You so much to all of them!
I viewed this movie near Boyce Park in Plum and the beginning of Route 48 in Monroeville on the Orange Belt, but I have been on other parts of the Orange Belt, such as Blackburn and Centennial Roads in Sewickley, Freeport Road in Creighton/ East Deer Township, the C.L. Schmitt Bridge in New Kensington, all of Route 48 from Monroeville to Elizabeth Township, the tail end of the route in Library/ Bethel Park, and Oakdale and Moon Township on some roads I forgot the name of.
@@TheLocutus70 OMFG I just got to that part...I'm 34 but I'm listening to this woman sing this song and I'm so in awe of the grace and beauty that age brings on...
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how drop dead gorgeous Paige O'Hara was (and still is). Just like her animated counterpart, Belle. A beauty playing a beauty, just like in true Disney Princess fashion. 🌹
@@rhaspados666 In fact, his recurring character on _Murder, She Wrote_ had his own spin-off, _The Law & Harry McGraw,_ which was canceled after one season.
Definitely very sad that we lost Angela Lansbury 10/2022. But she was 96, so she had a long wonderful life and brought a lot of happiness to a lot of people over the years. Ron Masak ("sherrif Mort Metzger") passed away just 9 days after Angela did. Oddly enough, Tom Bosley (Sherrif Amos Tupper) died 12 years almost to the day before Masak did. October 19th 2010 for Bosley, and October 20th 2022 for Masak.
If it wasn't possible for live-action Gaston to be equally as handsome as his animated counterpart, Richard White performing the song live just made that possible. Seriously it's like he was born to voice that character.
This beautiful film was my childhood. I watched it so much, I ruined the VHS tape. It will always be my favorite film. I’ve watched it so much, I’ve memorized the whole film word for word. Thank you Angela Lansbury, Jerry Orbach, and David Ogden Stiers for the wonderful memories. May you all rest peacefully in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Belle is my favorite Disney character I remember seeing the actress Paige who voiced and sang for her on ABC for a Disney special in 92 and I said " She looks like Belle" 😀 she just had shorter blonde hair
RIP Jerry Orbach RIP David Ogden Stiers RIP Dame Angela Lansbury RIP Rex Everhart RIP Mary Kay Bergman RIP Hal Smith RIP Howard Ashman RIP Tony Jay Tq 4 the memories....
A sign that you're getting older is seeing the RIP list of your fave movies get longer and longer. I'm a big Mel Brooks fan and I can't imagine how sad it is for Mel... because he's pretty much the ONLY ONE left from his heyday with all his friends.
Angela Lansbury is a wonderful woman of the highest class. Bedknobs and broomsticks was my favorite movie as a kid. Murder, she wrote is one of televisions best shows. Beauty and the Beast is a family classic for all times.
Beauty and the Beast is my favorite movie with Angelina Lansbury and one of my many top favorite Disney movies of all time! I always thought Angelina Lansbury did a good job at doing the voice of Mrs. Potts too! I agree with you because I say Beauty and the Beast is a family classic too! I also say it makes a perfect movie for families to watch together!
I even also love Angelina Lansbury singing Tale as Old as Time as Mrs. Potts too as well! 🎵🎶🎵🎶🎼(Tale as Old as Time, song as old as rhyme, Beauty and the Beast)🎼🎶🎵
Everyone in the comments is talking about Angela Lansbury - I understand why, her passing was a sad day - but I broke into tears seeing footage of Howard Ashman with Paige O'Hara. He was the lyricist for this movie, "The Little Mermaid," and for some of the songs in "Aladdin." He never got to see "Beauty and the Beast" in its final form because he died at age 40 of AIDS months before the movie's release, but if not for him, this movie wouldn't be as amazing as it is. Mister Ashman left the world way too soon. Rest in Peace, Howard Ashman. Thank you for giving a mermaid her voice and a beast his soul.
Watching this video & knowing what I do as an adult, it shakes me up just a little bit knowing that the lyrics were written by a man literally dying of AIDS. I watched 'And the Band Played On' for the first time last year, & that is today still in my opinion an incredible movie.
I didn’t expect to tear up while listening to Angela sing the title song 😭 This movie was my absolute favorite growing up, though I haven’t watched it in full in years 😄 Was surprised that I’d remembered enough to still sing along to most of the songs here 🥺😊♥️
Funnily enough, the first time I saw Jerry Orbach was on an episode of Murder She Wrote. I loved him instantly as a beleaguered detective, and wasn't at all surprised when he became one of the most beloved characters on Law & Order. But then I love all three of the departed Beauty and the Beast actors, and remember them fondly for their television careers.
That's what I was gonna say! I'll finish the next part: TWO LIVES HAVE BEGUN NOW! TWO HEARTS BECOME ONE NOW! One passion, one dream, one thing forever true... I LOVE YOU!

I cried when I watched the animated version. I cried when I watched the live action version. I cried when I watched this video. I wish there was some way I could tell all these lovely people (even Gaston) what an impact they made on my life. ❤
@@kojinaoftheinvertedeye810 Yes. How sad. He's the voice of Monsieur D'Arque from Beauty and the Beast and Judge Claude Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
3:30 "Papa... do *you* think I'm odd?' "YUP" 🤣 but also... WOW these are some true legends!!! eSPECially Dame Angela - she is a QUEEN and will be sorely missed ❤❤
I was smiling when Jerry Orbach was singing Be Our Guest and chills and tears when Angela Lansbury was singing Beauty and the Beast. Damn this is still my favourite Disney movie!
I am so glad that I found this. I didn’t know the father in dirty dancing plays the candlestick, and I couldn’t believe that Robbie Benson plays the beast. Great work to all of these people. It’s one of my favorite Disney movies.
@@joshuabrooks4907 Yeah, I looked him up. I know his name I just knew him as the father on dirty dancing and then he was also on Law and order I believe.
Thank you for putting this together. Angela Lansbury, Jerry Orbach, and David Ogden Stiers may you all rest in peace; I enjoyed your gifts that you shared.
Damn, Thomas. You perfectly captured the Disney I thought I'd lost forever. I can't thank you enough. Years of opera and singing and improv and acting classes only to enter a world that no longer exists, it broke my heart. This helps heal it.
They probably thought the same thing (that a certain world did not exist) when they were making the movie. It's only thanks to the determination, the gifts, & talents hidden in plain sight that marvels of art like this can be created.
The actor that played the candlestick I was so used to seeing him as a detective on Law an Order that I was shocked to find out he was the voice of the candlestick.
I love them so much😭 Watching the clip of Jerry and Angela singing Be Our Guest has always brought tears to my eyes. But now listening to Angela singing Beauty and the Beast does too❤❤❤❤❤ No matter how much my relationship with the Disney brand has changed over the last years, Disney's Beauty and the Beast remains one of my favorite movies of all times. And part of that is the vibrant and wonderful life all these incredible actors and performers breathed into these beautiful and charismatic characters. Such fantastic and authentic performances! Sadly, something that also makes this movie special for me is the amount of dear people gone that are part of this movie. Howard Ashman, Jerry Orbach, David Ogden Stiers, and recently Angela Lansbury. I just can't thank you all enough for your fantastic work. You all live in my memory and in this beautiful movie. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. Paige, Robbie, Richard, of course I love them too. Thank you.
Lmfao I didn't either 🤣😂 seeing him in the thumbnail was why I stopped scrolling and watched. Never noticed the name in the credits and I never would have guessed it was him. He did a wonderful job playing a French candelabra
no kidding! Knowing how well he did at impressions and singing it's kind of a shame he couldn't utilize that amazing singing voice more later in his career!
I had no idea that was Jerry Orbach! As a Law and Order fan, that's just amazing to find out. Can't believe he was that talented. In a recording studio is one thing, but he did it live very well too!
I saw this in the theater when I was 10. I even remember what I was wearing. Back in the day when the acting came first. Love Jerry, Angela, and Davids voices. Magical and memorable.
One of my all time favorite Disney movies. Such a classic. RIP🙏to🪦Angela Lansbury😢forever our Mrs. Potts. Such an icon in movies & TV with Beauty & the Beast, Bedknobs & Broomsticks & of course as Jessica Fletcher on Murder She Wrote. RIP also to Jerry Orbach aka Lumiere, David Ogden Steirs aka Cogsworth & Howard Ashman.
It was beautiful, lovely, and sublime. It was my daughter's first and favorite movie. It brings a smile to my face every time. Now with Mrs. Potts gone, it also brings tears to my all.
This movie came out when I was around 20 and I didn’t realize that it was kind of my life. Narcissistic Gastons are real. The silly girls who knock themselves out to be near the narcissistic Gastons are real. Belles are real. And believe it or not, even the miserable Beast in the miserable kingdom is real. Couldn’t break the spell, but hey. Belles have their intellectual gifts as well as their beauty and can go find adventure in the great wide somewhere. Rip to the extraordinary artists, and thank you-❤️
Of course intellectual Belles are real. But they’re rather heartless. You can have warmth or you can have beauty, but not both. Because those are taken by the Gastons of the world. If you DO manage to find one, count your blessings.
For those wondering what storybook she is reading, based on her description, you can take it two ways. Either foreshadowing her own, or indeed as an Easter Egg to "Aladdin", which was the next in production. "Here's where she meets Prince Charming, but she won't discover that it's him till Chapter 3 (Act 3). To three great actors I grew up watching in multiple roles. RIP and in loving Memory indeed. Jerry, who much like Lumiere, ignited every role, from a detective, to a candlestick. For life is certainly a journey and "a balloon that tumbles or rises, depending on what is inside." *spoiler alert* Looking back, I'm actually glad they had Angela as the balloon lady in "Mary Poppins Returns", as it served as a nice connection to David Tomlinson, even if it was different movies. As Mrs Potts, she was such a great maternal figure. As for David Ogden Stiers, from an orderly clock/coachman to a pompous Doctor with compassion underneath, evil or not, he was certainly a Genius indeed.
I have always loved the story of Beauty and The Beast. Disney created this beautiful, classical film with magic!!!! I love all the characters, and the music. The actors who gave their voices to create these characters, will never be forgotten. I still tear up, when I hear Ms. Lansbury sing the theme song. Angela Lansbury, Jerry Orbach, and David Ogden Stiers are legends!!!! They are forever immortalized in this film. May they rest in peace.🙏🙏🙏🙏
So bittersweet! Good childhood memories tempered with the loss of those well loved by fans. It will never been the same without Angela Lansbury and the others mentioned here.
This was great! Thank you. Did everyone notice how animated Miss Lansbury got while singing “Be Our Guest”? Signs of a true artist! The only thing I might ask for would be a little more Robbie Benson.
Casting Jerry Orbach - how did that come about? Who was the genius who thought, yes, this hard-boiled character actor is perfect to play the candlestick. Beyond perfect!
Jerry Orbach had a long and storied Broadway musical theater career. He was the first Billy Flynn in "Chicago" and the first Gallo in "The Fantasticks" (where he introduced the famous 'September Song'). He was a song and dance man long before he was a hard boiled character actor! :) Check his Broadway videos out on RU-vid!
Angela lansbury what a legend, beauty and the beast Is one of all time favourite Disney movies, that song is just beautiful 😍 rip to all these legends who brought us these much loved characters ❤️
I still, to this day, tear up when I hear Angela Lansbury sing that song. Me, my mom, my grandmother and my sister went to the movie theatre to see this when it came out on Thanksgiving day. I’m the only one who is still alive. Hearing this song, and seeing this movie takes me back to a time in my childhood when everything was perfect. It makes me happy and sad all at the same time. I really miss them.
2022 has lost both talented voices that I got the chance for growing up with both French and English dubs. Rest In Peace Angela Lansbury as Mrs. Potts English voice and unexpectedly Bénédicte Lécroart as Belle’s French voice. 😔 Thanks for the memories! 🙏❤️
I love how you can hear when Paige O'Hara smiles as she sings. Angela Lansbury too. What an amazing cast. All of them. Who thought "Beast? Robby Benson of course. Oh and flirtatious French candlestick? Easy Jerry Orbach." Yet it's perfect casting.
Beauty and the Beast is my personal favourite ❤️ when you feel you don‘t quite fit in … it‘s not you who doesn‘t fit, it’s the other people around you. There is always somebody and someplace where you belong 😊
One great thing about Beauty and the beast, is you can be a child of 3, or a grandparent, it's that "Disney Magic" that pulls you in, and strikes your heart. Unequaled talent was selected for this one!
One of my happiest memories going to opening weekend and watching this movie at the Disney theater on Hollywood Blvd. God bless you Angela, Jerry, David and Alan. We miss you and thank you.
I know what u mean. 32 years later I actually went to the very first opening in the world. It was in the El capitan theater in nov of 1991! It reopened after many years. I thought it was just another movie to watch but this is the best movie and theater I ever been to.
It's incredible when two different worlds, the real world and the cartoon world blend into harmony and its even better than the real world. That is what magic kingdom really mean to me.
Wow! This was wonderful! Thank you for enabling me/us to see these stupendous magnificent actors portraying these amazing characters in this great movie. Was like watching an old time Disney animated movie I grew up on!
I mean Gaston's voice gives me chills whenever I hear him since. His voice is just so manly, with so much bravado. Just so strong and powerful, I wish I could articulate the feeling better. The life action remake has nothing on him, his voice is so puny in comparison.
Angela Lansberry as Mrs Potts singing Beauty and the Beast is m favorite childhood memory I remember the clearest I was I love with this damn movie as a child the dancing furniture and cutlery just drew me in
I'm a 38 year old and not embarrassed or ashamed to admit that I cried watching this. Especially when Angela Lansbury started singing. She was absolutely perfect for the voice of Ms. Pots. Angela Lansbury would have been Ms. Pots if Ms. Pots were real. Rest in peace Angela Lansbury.
