I actually did this method and my hair stayed curly for a whole week! After that, it started getting wavy! I never stopped playing with my curls. My reaction: *excited gasp* IT'S LIKE MINI, HAIRY SPRINGS ON MY HEAD!!!

I wish I could have told 10 year old me that people would be putting straws in their hair to achieve a look like my hair 😭 I think it would have saved me some heartache back then

You can use strings from a destroyed shirt instead of straws. It is actually really comfortable to sleep in with cotton strings than straws.

It totally works for me I love that I slept comfortable with them in now i do it like 2 to 3 times a week and people say it looks like my natural hair I love you and I'm so happy elko that you showed me how to do it thank you so much and it works because my dad brought home like a lot of straw because he works for a company that makes them👍♥

Both your curls are lovely! Next time, consider using flex straws but using the bend at the start of wrapping. You might also want to use some type of styling gel to keep frizz at bay.

I've done this and it works so amazingly well, but it's super difficult to do alone. Also takes a ton of straws, at least for me. I used more than double what my friend did even though our hair is the same length

You looked soooooo adorable and it was perfect for your face shape. I loved the look on you! And girl on the right with all those beautiful curls. Well, they WERE a little tight cuz your hair's longer, and you probably hated it but it looked really cool!! I absolutely loved it!! You both looked awesome! I would have loved getting my hands and hair implements and make-up on both of you!!!!! Hmm, and don't take that the wrong way. lol It DID sound kinda creepy. Didn't mean it that way!! lol But that would have been so much fun for me! You can cut strips of cloth and do the same thing... it's called rag curls

When my hair was long my mother used to take strips of muslin and wrap my hair in it. Somehow they always came out even and Shirley temple like. That is really the only way I can curl my hair. These turned out so neat with the straws!!
