I'm the first one to call out a white woman when she is doing cultural appropriation. But this right here is not. It's equivalent to us straightening our hair guys. Some things are offensive but this is not. Curly hair is a NATURAL feature just like straight hair is. I hate when ppl say black women are culturally appropriating white women by straightening their hair, so I'm not gonna turn around and hate this girl for doing the same. YOU CANNOT APPROPRIATE NATURAL FEATURES!! Doesn't matter if it's curly or straight!! I would have a problem if she said curly hair looks good on her and not me but that's not the case.

As a cosmetologist, I have had MANY white women with curly hair just like this naturally & more coarse than this. Race has nothing to do with it. Also, just because she's white doesn't mean she can't use oils in her hair. I'm white & I use tons of oils in my hair because it's super thick & coarse. So please stop saying anything negative.

smh at some of these comments! lol every black woman (including myself) has some form or variation of kinky curly hair. God made us all different. There's no need to be conceited. To me, this is no different than me wearing my natural hair flat ironed or blown out for a week. I get bored sometimes too, so I change up the style, no big deal. Overnight masks takes time, Makeup takes time heck even the natural beauties still take time with their skin care, same with hair it takes time to style your hair and so all those things to help beautify us take time even the simple moisturize routines.

where I grew up, most people either had some sort of texture or covered their hair, and no one ever had a problem with curly hair, people did straighten their hair from time too time, but out of the 200ish people i met, only 2 covered up their curls

Where I used to live, no one had hair like me, which is curly/wavy hair. I felt like an odd ball and ended up straightening it in the 7th grade and most of 8th grade. I started braiding it so it would be wavy. But now I'm in a school with people who actually have curly hair and now I'm more confident about my hair. But o rarely have it natural at school

THIS WORKED! Usually when I watch a tutorial on RU-vid and try to do it irl, I fail miserably. THANK YOU so much! For anyone who complains it's too much work or takes too much time, think of it this way: You can do this approximately once a week and have a great hair. 2 hours (or less depends on the how much hair you have) once a week or an hour every day? 2 hours definitely! So I have hair that is straight as a needle and I just assumed this hair style would not work on me, but then I experimented on my head. If you are trying to do your hair in a certain way (like curl it, or straighten or some other complicated hairstyle) yes it does take time. If you want to put on make up. Yes it does. Those things have to do with beauty. In this case, we aren't talking about inner beauty, its about outer beauty. :3 and Just because you spend a lot f time on your looks doesn't mean you have an ugly personality. lol

In this age, everyone is practically going natural. It's very common for people with straight hair to want curly hair, and people with curly hair to want straight. It's a real shame when someone is put down for their natural or preferred hairstyle. Completely Ridiculous. People should be able to wear any hairstyle they want without it becoming some race issue.

I just read the article about how this video is offending those of color or with naturally curly hair. One person said if Valgermayne had naturally curly...then it would be okay. That's a really ridiculous statement. So ridiculous that I came to watch the video and comment. What if Valgermayne's hair is naturally curly?
