Beaver at Whatcom Creek 

Until now I had never gotten a picture of a beaver. Usually I have seen them and with a slap of the tail they are gone.
Not this time. I was out to photograph birds and so I had my telephoto lens with me and when someone asked "what was that animal over there?", I had the equipment to capture it.
The later video clip is very close up and I had walked to near where the beaver was but didn't want to scare it off. I was behind a tangle of branches and didn't have an unobstructed view until I laid flat and found a little 'hole' in the branches where the beaver was visible.
This was pretty exciting for me to come away with some great video and images of this mysterious creature.
