If ya think about it, Filter followed the same formula, of soft/hard/soft/hard, in their song "Hey, man, nice shot", from back in 1995. Among other things, the song was used to open the movie "Tales From The Crypt:Demon Knight". Looks like Filter actually made some $Cash$ from that song. It was also used in one of the "Beavis and Butthead" Episodes, sometime in either 1995 or 1996...or whatever...huh huh, huh huh huh!
I love that part at 0:19 when Butthead just looks at Beavis and doesn't say anything. From time to time Butthead will do this in certain videos and it gets me every time 😆
Umm...I don't know about all that. After all, they didn't like Korn. And that was from one of Beavis's more intelligent, lucid moments. That happened, after he put his thumb in his mouth, and blew real hard. I think it might've blown some of the "Dumb" out of his brain for a moment, because all of a sudden, he started talking really intelligently about Korn (Or whoever it was), saying that the band they were watching was too derivative of other bands of the genre... which caught Butthead totally off-guard, and he threatened to slap Beavis, if he didn't shut up. It really freaked Butthead out! So...after warning Beavis several times, he smacked Beavis, and Beavis came back to his senses.
Another Band that these two dillweeds ALWAYS gave a "YES!!! ROCK!!!" salute to, was Pantera. These two couldn't get enough of Pantera-Ever! I think they kinda liked Crowbar, too. They definitely liked Biohazard with Onyx, and even gave a nod of approval to, of all bands, KISS! Their comment on KISS was:"They're pretty cool, for a bunch of old guys". For some reason, though, seems like they didn't really like Korn. They might've thought that they were too "Derivative" of other bands of that genre. Yeah...I do believe I heard Beavis say that, in one of his more "Intelligent" moments... just before Butthead smacked him!
I love watching these, really takes me back. Staying up waiting for my dad to go to bed on the weekend to stay up late and watch this on MTV (when it was amazing) because we weren’t allowed to watch it lol.
@cmacdagod everything in its right place and lotus flower and idioteque and weird fishes and let down and subterranean homesick alien and street spirit and fake plastic trees and all I need and video tape and How to disappear completely and pyramid song and life in a glass house and the list goes on…
I don't get that Beavis acts like he's heard the song when he tells Butt-Head it'll get better, but then asks what's going on as if he wasn't expecting the change back to a slower pace.
Whenever I hear this song on modern rock radio, it sounds a lead singer extremely depressed or something and is ready to die at any time, not caring about the joys of life and living it to the fullest extent. We are want to be special and not be antagonized by bullying, teasing, and abuse or if some unbearable event happens unexpectedly like the New Zoo Revue getting cancelled without warning. There is something called "LIFE" Take Frighty and Colonel Mike's advice for example: "Life is what you make it. I know it's real. Try and make it. I know that you will."
You completely doesnt have idea about depression. Depression doesnt allow you to enjoy joys of life. Its not that person doesnt care about joys of life, he cant see any
The part that started 'rocking' the song was the guitarist trying to ruin it because he hated it. The song was an accident - as the band admitted themselves and they grew to hate it. Also, the 'special' person in the song once turned up to a gig in real life, unaware the song was about her.
