@@recordcollector0665Supposedly the only difference between Bebe's version and the Cars version is Ric sang on it. They took his vocal off of it and had Bebe record her vocals instead.
Not a bad listen. I like the tracks: The Little Black Egg & Funtime the best. They do sound a bit dated and have a distinct 80's New Wave feel, but they're fun little numbers nonetheless. I think Bebe strikes the right attitude & knows how to sing well. She does a good job of it but does lack a great sounding voice.
I was thinking I was going to hate this, as I know she was one of the biggest groupies of the 70's. But, I really kind of like all of the songs she chose, and remember back then they had no autotune and not a lot of disguising tools. So she had to sound good like this and that's her singing. She sounds like she's trying to get into the chick bands like The Runaways, who had got a record deal in 76. Funtime could have been much more ''Fun!'' Black Egg was dead, but not to where I had to shut it off. You could tell she was very green at it all. Bebe, you did good though!!
Hard to believe that this gal was with one of rock’s all time greatest frontmen, and the musical genius Todd Rundgren and still thought she could sing? Did she learn nothing?
It's the cars backing her on it. There's a version with ric ocasek and the Cars too....can be found on their hits compilation from 1995 and the shake it up remaster from 2017.
