Have you checked out Faouzia’s version of “Blue (Da Ba Dee)”? It’s an even bigger departure from Eiffel 65’s original. She dropped it on social media mid 2019. Then it got picked up for use on an episode on BBC Three’s “Red Rose”. She’s sung it in concert since then. As you said, the Guetta-Rexa song was released in 2022, though some sources indicate they worked on it in 2017. David Guetta reached out to Faouzia while she was still in High School. Faouzia was then featured on his song “Battle” in 2018.

That’s why I love watching you, Maggie. You are able to point out the recording, auto tune, etc. Sometimes it drives me crazy when I listen to and watch someone perform and you can tell that they’re using these cheats.
Definitely not Live! Microphone technique (placement) is a learned technique to change the sound and emphasize, here she moves away from the mic with no charges in the sound. (Lip syncing?) Also Redbone was placing mics under the stages to be able to emphasize foot stomping in the 1970s, but it can't come across so clearly.
This had everything going for it: great singer, great tune, and an orchestra! And then the pitch correction kicked in and suddenly that's all I could hear. So disappointing. Great analysis as ever - thanks Maggie.
