Hi Donna, thanks for asking such a good question. The answer is quite simple really. You see as Seventh-day Adventist Christians, we firmly believe in the sanctuary message. Our very denomination actually began because the pioneers in studying the Bible, were led by God to the importance of the sanctuary. As you know, the sanctuary has three apartments, the Outer Court, the Holy Place, and the Most Holy Place. While Christ lived on earth He was part of the first phase of the Plan of Redemption as exemplified by the priestly ministry in the Outer Court. This is where the priest ate some of the meat that was sacrificed. Christ could no longer eat meat in the phase 2 of the redemption plan. Since the year 1844 our Lord has moved into phase 3 of the Plan of Redemption by beginning His ministration in the Most Holy Place. So you see, it was perfectly alright for Christ to eat flesh food while He was in the Outer Court, which is this world. But when He ascended to heaven, He could no longer eat meat. Of course are right now living in phase 3 of the Plan of Redemption. We are right now living in the anti-typical Day of Atonement where we must put away all flesh food and pray for the Holy Spirit to give us the Victory Over Sin. I encourage you to study the sanctuary along with the priestly ministrations. You'll see the type and the anti-type inherent in the message. I hope by God's grace that was made plain for you. Thanks. Explain to me why Jesus ate meat and fish. He ate the passover lamb. And fed the multitude with fish. I no longer eat meat but I eat fish. Many animals were killed for sacrifice daily
It was never God's original plan for any of his creatures to eat the flesh of animals. Many people use the excuse that Jesus ate fish to continue to rebel against God's own words which is dangerous. The fish Jesus ate had no blood in it. And God expects his people to abstain from blood as well (Acts 24:25). I'm pretty sure you know why animals were sacrificed so I won't spend too much time on that. One thing that needs to be understood is that we are living in the anti-typical day of atonement, Christ is in the most holy places of the heavenly sanctuary pleading his blood for us. And in the type, no one was to eat any flesh during that time, all who were caught doing so were caught off from among the people. Isaiah 22:12-13 And in that day did the Lord GOD of hosts call to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to girding with sackcloth: And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine.
@@Marcus_Thomas_ the part I don't understand is the anti- typical day of atonement. The part of killing animals was just mentioned to say i feel no great sadness of killing animals it has always been

Will any less be required of us in this antitypical day of atonement, when Christ in the sanctuary above is pleading in behalf of His people, and the final, irrevocable decision is to be pronounced upon every case?"
