I never said he wasn't an artist. He's eccentric and whacky. He's a musician. When I want to hear a good song I'll turn to Beck, but when I want information from someone with a sane worldview, I'll look elsewhere.
Is he singing about real contamination by jet engines? Or is it about a crazy conspiracy? I would like to think that is about the former. Anyway, artistically, it is a beautiful song, full of calmness and energy at the same time.
I agree this is a great song - the bass/drums in partik. But the sound on this recording doesn't do it too much justice IMO. I'm sure it sounded much better THERE.
firstly, there is a difference between being not an artist and less of an artist. and just because he has different beliefs than you doesn't mean his views are insane. my point is that you wouldn't have posted any of this about someone being christian. actually his political views from my expirience are actaully pretty on point. but that is a bold statement because i don't know too much about his political views. just from what i do know, i mostly agree with.
What plagiarism ? The only thing this song has in common with that Aprodite's Child song is the slow intro into the loud drums. That's It ! Everything else, the melody, the lyrics, the feel of the tune is totally different. If that's plagiarism, bears don't shit in the woods. Beck's song is also by far the better quality song. The AC song is silly
does that make beck any less of an artist? he wasn't converted to scientology, he was raised on it. his parents told him that and he believed it, along with "don't talk to strangers" and so on. i don't think it is fair to hold that against someone. its like saying you don't respect a black person because they were raised black, or a women because they were raised a women (and don't say you can't change those because you can; just look at Michael Jackson).

I don't get what you're saying.All I've said on this video is that Beck is talented and batshit crazy.You seem to be saying that because his parents pushed scientology on him that makes his views less ridiculous.
