+ALX3rdS haha I know right, I was like "fuck you mean, 'the pass was good'??" I don't think a long pass could be any better, perfect trajectory and timing, Becks' passing game really had a science to it
+Aerial Fox pretty sure zizou is the humblest player ever, when ever asked if he is the best, always mentions someone else even though in reality there was no one as good as him
Beckham himself is a better playmaker than Zidane. Is just his fellow team mates from Real madrid does not want to talk about it. You can find another Zidane but you cant find another talent like beckham because no body can passes better than beckham including this over rated arrogant hot headed baldy= Zidane.
well said!! 100% agree with u.. zidane has magical skills, but becks is a better playmaker, passer, crosser and freekick taker.... Zizou cannot score like beckham. his goals were sublime
David Beckham trop humble un vrais fan de Zinedine Zidane, à la fois le joueur, le co-équipier et l'homme et c'est tout sa qui à donné "les galactiques", le football à bien changé.
People ask why Zidane over Messi/CR7. It was always for me about his appearence. When he plays he looks like your friend who you used to play with in backyard. He moves like a normal player you would play alongside on the street in your neighborhood. But when he does something amazing you're like ":O" for a while. Such precision in his play. With Cristiano and Lionel when you look at them moving on the field it's immediate - they're professionals. Their body movement. You expect to be amazed. With him... You never knew. You couldn't miss an important match or even a friendly match because the next day you would hear about something amazing and be like "fuck, why did I missed that...".
Excellent point you made here. I think that is why I also loved Chris Waddle as a Marseilles fan back in the days. Apparent sloppiness and not much of an impressive athlete but at some points BAM, pure magic. I like this kind of players and they tend not to fit today's criterium.
Porque This is what sets Zidane apart from today's best players for me. I think he has mastery of the ball far above that of any player that existed, but when you look at him and see him in interviews, he is just a normal guy. CR7 and Messi are products, Zidane is just a bloke from a poor Marseille neighbourhood who enjoyes playing the ball, and so happens to be the pinnacle of the sport's talent.
Well said, H. S. Messi and CR7 may be good because they are products after all, but Zidane and R9 Ronaldo Phenomenon will always be my absolute favorite players because there are just like that normal guy you meet to play football and the things they done makes you go like "Wow".
C. Ronaldo and Messi are better players because they have beaten records after records and they are far far away apart in quality from anyone who has been playing the game for the past 20 years. Zidane was an amazing player but the gap between him and Brazillian Ronaldo (who was better), Figo, Thierry Henry, Raul was not as big. In many games of the galacticos Zidane wasn't the best player, sometimes it was Figo, other times, Ronaldo, others Raul, sometimes even Beckham. What Zidane had that was rare and almost unique was grace. Football can be an aggressive, strong, rough sport, but he did everything with grace and elegance, and he made the impossible look easy. The same kind of grace and elegance is rare; you can find it in Roberto Baggio, Rui Costa, Pilro, but Zidane was unbeatable in that. He was just beautiful to watch even doing the simple things as receiving a ball or doing a short pass.
@@miguelrosado6348 You are so wrong my friend, Zidane was the face of that galactico team, same as that France team, he outshines everyone, Henry was not the star of France, Zidane was, Ronaldo was the closest but him, figo, raul, carlos, beckham, they were not the star of that Real Madrid, Zidane was. He is also the only one (except Beckenbauer perhaps), to be in the GOAT conversation without being the teams primary goalscorer, and the only one without any speed or pace considered one of the best dribblers, which probably makes him the most purely talented dribbler every, since he can never rely on quickness when dribbling. CR7 and Messi are from a different era, but Zidane won the World Cup and Euros back to back, lost back to back CL finals with Juve 97 and 98 and then won one with Real 02. He dominated Brazil (the best international team) every time he faced them, 2006 being perhaps the second best individual performance of all time in World Cup (no1 is Maradonna vs England 1986).
Due to Zinedine Zidane, I became fanatic supporter of the national team of France, captain, attacking midfielder and number 10 in my team. Merci Zidane. You are my idol, the best football player in the world and the best French person ever.
David Beckham maybe is not the best skilled player in history of football..But I truly believe what Zidane said to him.. David is the most integral and honest player ive seen in almost 25 years watching this sport ..
Keano once spoke of beckhams work ethic at man utd.. He would run and run and run and run.. he gave 150% for the team, his work ethic was the best, a real engine and a brilliant brilliant team player.
Other players with more successful careers have existed and will exist. Messi, Maradona, Pele, Ronaldo, CR7, Platini, Baggio, Cruyff. But no player have come, and I don't think will come close to the all-around mastery of the ball, its technique and its on-field tactics as Zidane, and he had the prefect physique to match his brain. Zidane is the perfect footballer, and is in my opinion the best player of all time.
You have a point, but Zidane literally won almost everything he could have won in his career. I don't think any modern players come close. Ok, he didn't win five Champions Leagues, but it was harder to win several at the time since the absolute top players were spread out over more teams. He did win it once, as well as the WC and the EC...
Beckham being humble as usual. That pass couldn't have been made by many other players! You could have picked it up run over with it and placed it on zidane' foot and everyone would have have been standing in the same position. Class act!
After watching and hearing the words OF DAVID BECKHAM about Zizou woooow DAVID BECKHAM you won MY HEART YOU DONT HAVE JUS A GREAT PERSONALITY BUT AS WELL A GREAT HUMAN BEING RESPECTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
yeah, but I think he's just too modest guy to really say that, even in his mind ;) that's why I like him so much, he say's that conversation with zidane was so important for him, and that's just incredible, true class, great player, but most importantly a normal, nice person
Zidane was a genius simple as. The fact he makes it all look effortless is what makes him a genius and even surrounded by players he still buries them all with a simple pass or great piece of skill they never saw comming. A lot of his goals are sublime too.
you can actually realise Becks is been totally honest on what he is saying, he seems like a very likeable dude to me, no wonder why Zizou told him that.
i must of seen the goal on 2:18 a hundred times it still never fails to make a noise after that shift of the ball he does. Looks so simple but oh my god!!!
Interesting you made this comment 10 years ago. I still think Zidane was something special. Messi... Well... what are your thoughts now 10 years later?
When I hear talk of Messi being the best player of all time, I can't help but laugh. Zidane is the best of all time because he excelled at every aspect of the game: finishing, dribbling, long shots, passing, crossing, headers, volleys, free kicks, penalties, vision, decision making, etc... Zidane also won everything there is to win in football. A big part of Messi's success at Barcelona is due to Xavi and Iniesta. That's why Spain are the world champions and not Argentina.
zidane the gud gift to football for sure, but when legend retire, another will take over and his name is lionel messi, everyone love football will agree, both of them is not only best football player, but humble and respect of the game.
