@onezero yeah Makelele is legend too. He's our defensive engine and i feel really bad when Perez sold him and Hierro off and sack del Bosque (because Hierro and Del Bosque support Makelele staying in the team). After Makelele is gone, that is the moment when The Galacticos slowly loses steam. I still remember Zidane saying to the media after Perez sold Makelele to Chelsea: "Why put another layer of gold paint on the Bentley when you are losing the entire engine like Makelele?".

After Juninho, Beckham is the best freekicker I've seen, especially in his younger years. I believe he would've scored some more in Madrid if Zidane and Carlos didn't play there.

Who underrates him? Maybe even the reverse. He was still capped when his international performance was in decline for more than a couple of years on the lead up (coinciding with the wind down of his time in La Liga). As if the whole of England wanted him on for the last repeat spark, blaze of glory before the bow out... By 2009, even some of the English were asking: 'is the celebrity status keeping him in the National squad'. The cynical were thinking he was there to attract more lucrative sponsorship... Nowt to do with underrating him, just that the reality, that his best playing days have passed, started to dawn. He is still a legend in Football regardless.

I'm not saying he wasn't good bcos he was awesome. But Figo and Zizou had to step aside by default. Fact is Figo was underrated as a freekick taker could of scored as many as Beck's. But bcos Beck's lacked in other departments they had to let him take freekicks more often so that he could score. I rate Beckham as a player but I felt his arrival was the beginning of the end for Madrid Galacticos dynasty.

Like the Picasso of football. The best ever at freekicks are juninho of lyon and Beckham. Both were not particularly skilled but were excellent freekick specialists

That last minute goal against Greece, and so many other world class performances. Could play as a winger or as a CM. Beckham was overlooked because of his looks. He was world class in terms of free kicks crosses combining with team mates vision creativity and hard work.
