Such a great job you are doing. The visa for carer is not 1 year, the visa could be 3 or 5 years. The 1 year is to test the scheme and check if reviews and all are needed.
I find it very patronizing that they expect a qualified nurse with a degree to come and work as a carer just because they're from an African country, when most of the carers in the UK have health care certifications. I find the presumption that a nurse from an African country would have a much lower standard As long as the nurse passes the competency exams and has IELTS, they should be given the same opportunities to come and work as registered nurses like the Indian and Philipino nurses. Obviously they'd go through a period of induction, training and preceptorship to meet the set competencies of the role, but as registered nurses. Indian and Philipino nurses don't come to the UK to work as carers, so why the difference? Great content, thanks.

Honestly, its not easy to get employers that hire international . Majority of them online go for the residents. But my fingers are crossed.I'm still pushing.
Hi Nanelle, I'm a Registered Nurse with 10 years experience presently working in a teaching hospital. I've taken the UKVI academic but came out with an overall band of 5.5. I've also done the required 15+ courses as a health care worker, I've also prepared my CV the UK just as you stated in one of your videos. Point of correction. The health care assistant is also 5 years not 1year. The scheme is currently only available for one year not the route. All jobs under the health and care are eligible for indefinite leave to remain after 5 years on the route.
@@mtd4577 Am not sure what you meant by the 3 year scheme. However the health and care could start from 1 to 5 years and leads to settlement after 5 years

So a friend recently got a visa for a shortcourse in the UK that has nothing to do with health care but she has done her 15 courses and currently in a hospital working working free. She intends to apply for the jobs when she is in the UK after her short course. Can she apply and will she stand a chance of getting a COS? She doesn't mind returning to Nigeria and coming back to the UK but she was hoping to get the COS while on her 6 months visiting visa. Do you also know of any one that got a job this way? ?

Can I volunteer at a government hospital or health centre? (Note: I'm a Nigerian) 2. What is the minimum time (hours / months) one can spend as a volunteer at a hospital? 3. Is IELTS compulsory for a bachelor's degree holder who do not have background in health related courses? (BSc. Cosumer Science). If yes, what type of IELTS (I heard there are different types). I have done the 15 online cpd approved care courses + 7 online clinical courses (few more to go) within 3 days. What are my chances of getting employed by an agency/ uk recruiter?

I personally think the Home Office should try and regularize overstayer who are willing into these roles for now... Absorb them even if it means a certain clause attached to it.
