I taught English as a second language for 25+ years and being humorous in a second language is very difficult. BUT-you have something that cannot be learned, which is a naturally charming personality! We feel the joy you have for your work and you are delightful to listen to. I come to your channel for truly creative ideas.

You are a master of your trade and a joy in my life. I am a 73 year old that gets giddy when I see one of your new videos come up. Whether I do what you’re doing or whether I’m “just watching” I so enjoy the processes and explanation that you do. Luise I hope you realize the impact that you have on this art form world of ours. Truly you are a gift to us all. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I can hardly believe that I completely enjoyed a two hour video on splattering but I absolutely did Luise. You are an amazing teacher and your careful and well thought out methods are carefully conveyed by showing us exactly what you meant. The demo of water colour pencil on your hand allowed me to have that eureka moment of complete understanding. I now believe that I have not only my masters degree but a PhD in splattering. It’s such a great method for adding texture and I’ll spend tomorrow practicing. I love your style of humour. 🤣 it’s perfect. Thanks so much. Loved this. 🤗🇨🇦🤗

You are doing great with the English language. Use relatively as often as you want to use it. I'm sure if that person was on a youtube, we could say alot about their language too; however, we have manners and wouldn't hurt someone like that!!!!! Let it roll off your shoulders. One person is not your 44.4K subscribers saying it (actually, we wouldn't say it even if it was true, we have manners) and it is not a reason for you to change how you say things!!!! We love you just the way you are!!!! I agree with patti below, I wouldn't attempt German. My brother said German was quite easy when you had a few beers and your tongue loosened up. That has stayed with me forever!

SoOo worth watching! Two hrs about splattering? Yes good, to my surprise. Having tried to get my splatter more controlled and predictable and understood for a couple years now I find here all the variables so well thot out and explained. Answers to questions I didn’t even know how to ask. No wonder you didn’t have time to get to this sooner… there’s more to say than one realizes. Thank you! Now… I wonder if that brush is available in the US? We shall see. If not, I will find the best of my brushes for all splatter.

Oh Dr. Luise, you definitely must have a PHD in splattering 😆. (This comment is a long one 😂). I simply love watching you create as you have a LOT of inspiration to share with your audience. You amaze me with your determination to learn and use English. You certainly have a wonderful English vocabulary, including the word ‘relatively’ which you are using for the most part in the right context and grammatically correctly too. Please don’t let others stomp on your journey to become more fluent in English. For most people for whom English is their first language (or as you say your Mother tongue), they rarely try to learn a second language. I truly admire your continued determination to learn new words and add them to your growing vocabulary and for the most part use them in the correct grammatical situations. You obviously have a fantastic sense of humour, as it comes across very clearly in your English videos. I can even pick it out in your German videos which I am not able to speak, but your tone reflects laughter or glee when you tell a joke or make a mistake and you chastise yourself. It is always funny when you drop in the occasional word like “shit” 😂while crafting. I think for the most part, in every one of your videos I get a giggle and end up smiling as you drop into chatting to yourself while creating, then come back to talking to us the audience 😊. It must be difficult to always be talking to someone who is not physically there while you create. Although I know I talk to myself as I craft too and I’m not filming for an audience 😂. About todays video: Your brushes- The bitch: looked to be a round watercolour brush which is why it sucked up the spray but didn’t want to release it without a lot of flinging or water, but as you said lovely for painting flowers etc; The Diva: looked to be a brush called a ‘rake’ which is usually used to paint things like grass or fur and didn’t pick up enough product for a good splatter. The next brush is called a ‘Bright’. It is similar to a ‘flat’ brush. They can make great splatter brushes especially if bigger and if you are willing to get your fingers dirty by pulling the bristles backward and allowing them to flick towards your canvas. And of course your favourite brush the ‘fan’ brush that in traditional painting is used to creat texture like fur, foliage, grasses and more. Many artists like yourself use them for splattering. There are of course many ‘splatter’ brushes on the market -Tim has one in his collection. Or many use a tooth brush which also calls for messy fingers 😊. I love using splattering in my creations too and really enjoyed watching this video. I think you shared a lot of great information especially for people just getting started in their mixed media art. It did hurt my heart seeing you have to clean up so much product that I’m sure had you not been videoing you would probably have used to create of journaling fodder. Once again thank you for giving your precious time to us all. Rosemaree ❤

One or more of them like to craft with me, and they look quite festive once they have been splattered (yes, I do wash the splatters off the cats). 😺🇨🇦 Please don’t apologize for your English. I love your manner and your English is wonderful! I just thought I would add a couple of thoughts. Any watercolour brush is meant to suck up 36:24 a great deal of medium (eg water or liquid ink) and release it slowly, that is why the first brush behaves the way it does - it is a watercolour mop … actually, mop” brushes, in particular, are specially designed for holding extreme amounts of water. The other thing I wanted to mention is that the “halo” on the splatters that you showed with the spray nozzle on matte photo paper will occur on other papers as well. It tends to happen on papers that are designed to be immediately absorbent rather than having “sizing” that slows down the absorption of the medium. It occurs because some components of the medium sit on the surface of the paper (this is what the mica does), whilst some components that are completely dissolved (such as dye) is absorbed into the paper with the water. When the water is absorbed, it spreads in all directions through the substance of the paper, carrying the dissolved components with it, thereby creating the halo. In addition, as the water spreads, if there is more than one dissolved substance creating colour, these different colouring components can behave differently due to , for example molecular weight or electrical charge on the particles, so that the dissolved components form concentric rings in the halo of differing colours. Something that people can do to try to avoid this is to use paper that has a decent amount of “sizing” (for example, watercolour paper) so that the water sits on top of the surface of the paper longer, allowing all of the components to stay mixed (both dissolved and not). I’m not sure, but I think the acrylic paints basically provide their own in built “sizing” (kind of) that prevents the medium absorbing into the paper in the same way that water based dyes and watercolour paint will.

Wow! I truly learned so much in this "master class".🤩 I have some of the Distress Paints. Only about 10 or 12, in colors I like. I also have pan watercolors, & other watercolor pencils...good quality Prima. I even have Inktense pencils and blocks. And I have most of the early/originally released Distress Crayons, but...I want Distress Watercolor Pencils SOOOO badly!😁 I love the colors, of course. But I really love that they are 'woodless' & fat, like a crayon, not skinny pencils that you have to sharpen all of the time...losing 'product' each time you do, too.🤨 I just have to wait until next month. I spent this month's supply "allowance" on the line of products in Scorched Timber.👀 Yay!!🤗💖 It's the first time I've ever bought everything, all at once...(it's got everything except the crayon & pencil, I think). You just made it look so beautiful, Luise! And the color is exactly right up my "grungy lane".😉 So...I NEEDED it...ALL. lol!!😂 Thank you for these "bucket list" videos, Luise. You are doing a fantastic job of making everything understandable, while giving useful tips. I've always learned, and retained info, best when I'm taught "why" something is done a certain way. You are great at explaining that.👍 I can't wait to see what's next!💗 Love and blessings...Tracy, in California US.💜💜💜

I can't wait to see this... I just started watching. When you splatter, it looks fantastic. Not so much when I do it! LOL. I've commented before, your English is wonderful. And you are naturally funny. 😀

Now I have watched and practiced, am I now a certified splatter master? When can I expect my certificate? I've never been a master of anything before so I'm looking forward to framing it!😂😂😂 Perhaps with my Tim Holtz paper!

I have to pause, Luise. I don't know who told you to "Stop using the word 'relatively'...". It's really been bothering me. Because you ARE using it correctly. I even looked it up, just to make sure. It is used in "relation" to, or in comparison to, something else. Example: "[This] is relatively hard as compared to [that]". But it is not necessary to add the other comparison. The comparison is implied within the context of what you're talking about. As in regard to using the Spray Stain nozzle to splatter you said, "This is relatively hard to do", we already know the comparison is to the brush, or another tool you intend to demonstrate. Whoever said, "YOU are wrong", and to stop using the word "relatively" as you have been...THEY are wrong. You are using the word correctly and appropriately.😉💗

So enjoying this series. You experiment and i follow😊❤did the diva come like that or did you cut the bristles. I have a fan brush but it doesnt look so separated like yours. I heard that if you thin out acrylics too much the chemistry changes. Is that true? I saw that little heart and then you said it. I cant believe the contol you have. It must take practice 😊❤
