Good advice. I've been using isopropyl alcohol to strip mine, works pretty much the same way. If you struggle with gloves it's worth ordering a box of proper ones online. Used em all the time as a cleaner so i know what a ballache they can be to get on and off 👍

Do you also leave the minis in for 10-15minutes with isopropyl? Ive tried a first mini but the plastic seems to become a little weaker quite fast, it was only white primer but was a pain to get off
@samhazell13
@samhazell13 2 года назад
@ not always. I tend to use it as a scrubbing agent for minis, as it can affect the plastic as you mentioned if you leave it too long. A spray and soak for me is a matter of minutes with minis. Primer can be difficult, as it often has some sort of binding agent mixed in to help it set/stay on.

Seems like a good method; I'd try it. Wouldn't it be better to scrub the model off into a sink instead of into the methylated spirit? I'm wonder about the scrubbed off paint making the methylated spirit goopy? My current method of stripping envolves soaking a model in Simple Green & then scrubbing but it need to soak for a day. And you may have to repeat if there are ridiculously thick layers of paint.
@SnakeWorksStudio

You could do that! In the meths it goes more flaky than gooey, dettol is the gooey one, that stuffs horrid!

Get yourself the cheapest ultrasonic cleaner you can find (usually about $15). Use the solution in the ultra sonic cleaner and you will completely negate the scrubbing step.
