Today we talk about Dokkodo - "The Way of Self-Reliance" or "The Way of Walking Alone". Dokkodo comprises the rules that Miyamoto Musashi lived by. Being Ronin Musashi would be described as a lone wolf. Pursuing his path of becoming the best swordsman of his time. So the only one he could rely on was himself. One rule was "Do not intend to rely on anything." Wisdom that we can apply to modern life.

Though any insights or videos upon stoicism and other similar philosophical works that you enjoy or believe would be beneficial and intriguing to your audience, would also be great too. Honestly I found your channel at just the right time in my life, and you've definitely helped me to see the world through a considerably clearer lens and purview.

This is a awesome series, i remember reading a book which had him init when i was a child, it was just a story book but even in that it amazed me that this guy never lost a duel, this guy is a awsome guy, definitely a inspiration. Would love for you do some viedoes on stoicism. And do some viedoes in the futer on Taoism or Daoism. It always amazes me when you read these about these old philosophers, that a lot of what they say is the same sort of thing worded slightly differently. There has to be some truth to this if some of the greatest minds to ever live keep coming to the same conclusion. Sorry for the ramble dont userly write comments but i love your series so far, Keep up the good work :) ❤

Can you just explain Eastern philosophy without connecting it with Stoicism? As an Eastern person, I must tell you Stoicism lacks the "higher purpose" that "The Way" or "Dharma" does not lack. It regards this world as final. Dharma does not. So the interpretations of The Way can get corrupted and restricted to the understanding of the material world only.
