"Just because you're capable of more than raising children doesn't mean that raising children is beneath you" 👏 I got a lot of negative feedback when I chose not to go to graduate school and to pursue a different career path so that my husband and I will someday have the financial flexibility (no debt) for me to stay home with our potential children. It's so good to hear this from other intelligent, capable women 🤍

Go the Stay at Home Mom!! You and their Grandparents can give way more to your children than a DayCare Centre!!! Some are great, some are not much different to an orphanage. And very young children can't tell you about it so I am.

Merry Christmas! I’ll be honest, I typically don’t watch other RU-vidrs Q and A’s, but I have watched and enjoyed every single one of your videos, and so obviously I wasn’t going to pass this one up. And it did not disappoint! I really enjoyed hearing more about your life, and it’s interesting to see how much one can have in common with another person in the RU-vid world. 😆 I love hearing women embracing their roles as mothers; we need more of that. And I hope that you are able to homeschool your children down the road; it is such a wonderful thing. I was homeschooled, and am doing the same with my boys. Have you ever read Anne of Green Gables? I feel like you’re a kindred spirit! Oh my goodness, I could talk your ear off, but I had better stop😆

It sounds like we have a lot in common! I was actually homeschooled too, which I neglected to mention. So, I’m hopeful Steve and I can figure it out!

Merry Christmas! Would love to hear hear how your flip phone journey turns out. I’ve tried to turn my phone into a “dumb phone” as much as possible (limited notifications, screen time restrictions, only one folder of essential apps on the Home Screen), but recognize my phone does actually minimize the amount of other tools I’d need (calculator, maps, camera) ☺️

I think you’ve nailed the trade off with switching to a flip phone. Smart phones are a key tool in making minimalism more accessible. I’m curious to see how many other things I will need to purchase to make up for the loss of the smart phone. But I’ll definitely cover it once I’ve had at least six months with the flip phone. ☺️ And Merry Christmas! 🎄

If you’re looking for a nice slow tv show, Apple TV put out a season of Frog and Toad and it’s beautiful and sweet. There is also a video of the Bible series The Biggest Story, and the art is BEAUTIFUL. There is also a video series for Sally Lloyd Jones’ Jesus Storybook Bible. Merry Christmas to you and your family! Glad you’re taking time “off” for your own sustainability. You are wise not to burn yourself out.

Young women - get on to Dave Ramsay and save, save, save and invest when you have lots of disposable income. Then when you start having kids you can relax and enjoy your kids and you won't have an over-inflated lifestyle.
