This is a short video of my bed/couch in my vanbuild.
I got the idea and plans from another youtuber, his youtube link is below.
Wathier explains everything in detail. I have no carpenter skills, and I wanted to build everything myself. I have attached a link to the Wathier bed plans and the link to the bed lift which I bought off of Amazon.

🙊 oops! I meant I’d really just appreciate if you showed how/what 🧰 tools 🛠 & how you measured your build. It looks great!!! Supposed to start in April. Can’t wait!☺️🚐We have a Honda Odyssey 😉.

There is a link in the description of the actual bed build. I used a circular saw to cut the 2x4s. Or you can make a list and take it to homedepot to make all the cuts. Homedepot wont cut angles. It's very sturdy. As far as weight, my husband and I slept comfortably. Combined weight at the time 350lbs.

Also the cuts were make for a dodge caravan. But you can go back later and change the legs out to fit your rig.

@@OnTheRoadwithBarbaraJo17 Sure😃! It's just a simple editing trick and a little bit of acting. The editing software I use is called DaVinci Resolve 17 and it has a feature called masking where you basically take two video clips and put one on top of the other and then you cut a hole in the top one so you can see the one underneath at the same time. The hardest part is making sure your eyes are looking in the right spot when you're filming so it looks like you're looking at yourself. Oh and the timing takes practice too if you want both of you to react to each other.

Hi Barb. I love your bed to couch build. I am about to build my tri-fold bed but saw your build & May switch over. By any chance do you have all the steps? I’m wondering if you have a large frame base to hold/sustain the weight the actual

Finally constructing the bed. Only thing i need to get now is a bolt. NO idea how big or what to get. Any advice?

I used a lag bolt. I think a 1/2 inch, 4 to 5 inches in length. I'll send a picture.

I think it was 1 inch. It was good wood.

What do you use for a hinge though, where the bed turns into a couch?

@@CLATYRhe I'm sorry I can't help you with a video. I built it with those instructions. If you print it out, you can use Google for a inches to cm conversion and write in place of the inches. I am not a carpenter, and I was able tp build this with these instructions. Just google as you go on how to do each step and go slow. Good luck

When I get up in the morning I roll the sheets and blanket toward the back and the mattress piece, there is plenty of room back there, also it does not block my rear view when I'm driving

I used an electric carving knife to cut the mattress piece at an angle. An electric carving knife is about $10 on Amazon. 😀

@@OnTheRoadwithBarbaraJo17 I really appreciate all the info. I have all my wood, screws, brackets, etc and I'm picking up my mattress tomorrow(I found something similar locally)! I may have to go to Wal-Mart or something to get a carving knife. I'm eager to have my bed. All my supplies are taking up my space in the van!
