It's that time of year. Yes , fish are on beds on the pond. While bed fishing can be fun I don't do it near as much as I use to. I definitely enjoy the challenge of finding pre spawn smallmouth. In my mind that's the best chance at a mega bag. However, that doesn't mean you can't catch a giant bag bed fishing. I've definitely had 23lb-24lb days catching males off beds. I still practice doing it & have my clients on beds a fair amount of time as well. I think there's an ethical way to do it if you are that won't affect our fisheries in a bad way if we do it right. Protect our resource that we love and we will have big bass in Mille Lacs forever!
