This one and the last one are my favorite type of videos. Don’t get me wrong, I like all your videos. But videos like these I feel like you are taking me out with you. Thanks
Dan is like to thank you for this video…. I enjoy all of your content but in this one you are like the late Bob Ross painting a picture for us…. THE HAPPY HUNTER!!!! 🤙
They can smell you, but you can also smell them. I was blowing leafs this past fall. And I could smell a Buck, smell, as I was blowimg leaves into the woods. Two days later, every radio playing in the garage, as I am ripping some wood for a customer. Going out to get a cup of coffee, and I noticed a rather learn 10 pointer, walk by my picture window. Long story short, he ended being bedded for a week or so, 15 ft away from where I was blowing leafs. I know I smellt him, but never would have guessed, he was so close to my house. Reckon you should always believe your nose. Lol 😊
You are right about older bucks rule prime bedding and feeding areas. There's a RU-vid page up in Maine where they feed deer 24/7. There were two bucks at one feeder watching a bigger buck that had dropped his antlers. The big buck still showed his dominance over the younger bucks. Even though he had no antlers.
Dan! Excellent video! We need more of this. Just you walking and talking. And would be awesome if we could see you throw in some satellite images to go along with what you're explaining too. Thanks for teaching the next generation of BBKs
Another great video Dan thank you for sharing I've learned a lot about the 200 acres around me and my semi my remote property As to where to look for the best big buck bedding and how to decipher the rubs 😊 Happy New Year my friend and thanks for sharing
And, I'm sorry, Happy New Year Dan! My bad, 😮sorry. As always, thanks for the education. Going out tomorrow for some early scouting and some shed looking. Will definitely keep your educational thoughts in my forefront, as I am slopping around. Hopefully I don't get stuck. Still have 6- 8" drifts around my.area😅
Great video. We all ought to buy one of Dan's stands or sticks to help support him because he is helping us all with years of knowledge that is priceless, thanks Dan, not everyone successful shares their tips. Much appreciated man.
Dan the man! You have taught me how to include hunting pressure into my scouting. Learning how other hunters approach the woods has increased my encounters with bigger bucks. Always when I'm getting ready to break down my beast gear and pack up! I'm in the game just not quit close enough for a legal kill shot!
Thank you my friend if that doesn't ring back memories boy do I miss Wisconsin of course everything has changed the wife is gone the kids are all gone my log cabin is gone and I've been sick as a dog and I don't never get sick I've been in bed for four or five days and nights believe it or not I just made my first cup of coffee this is the first time that I've missed coffee and I went four or five days without it the first time in 50 years and it didn't bother me at all
I scouted harder this past spring than ever. Found two of the biggest rub lines I've ever seen. Thought it was going to be pretty good for me this year. I had the worst season ever simply because of the sick deer. I found three different deer this year (on one piece of public land) that was dead from disease. One a nice 135 class ten point. 🤬 I still enjoyed myself but never had a good encounter with a mature deer this year. Maybe next year if God's willing.
Awesome content Dan saying hey from nova scotia canada i watched every video so far and learned alot from them !! Have a great year scouting and hunting pal looking forward to all the new stuff you got coming.
I’ve killed most of my big bucks in early season, this past season I got one on September 24 and another October 23, I love early season but it gets hot fast, so you have to try to get them out and taken care of quickly is the worst part about it. But I’ll take it every year.
Love your videos and your tshirts. I learn so much from your videos. Hubby and I just found a nice line of big and small rubs in our Tamarack swamp and that trail leads to oaks. I'm going to hunt it early season this fall.
That actually is a well done documentary. That will be valid 30+ years from now if ..and a big if ..is would hunters even think of doing that? With all the easy buttons in use these days
I find some beds with rubs some beds with a licking branch some with both some with none. What do you make of that? Do you think less used beds have less sign left?
Not really... Rut beds can be used for only a few days a year but be tore up with sign... As far as scapes and licking branches, there not really beds, but does bed there waiting for bucks to come back, and sometimes bucks do the same.
