If 1958, it's not the original petrol (gasoline) engine. It sounds like a diesel one, well if it's a diesel is it original Bedford diesel, if not, then the credit goes to the engine manufacturers.

Nice video of a 62 year old Bedford Truck starting after 12 years stored up but when the engine started revving the engine hard like you need surely that was the worst thing you could have done, that is just asking for big trouble that is!! Please show some more respect in future & do you still have the truck & has it been restored now or have you passed it on please?
Don't think there were diesel Bedford's around back then, lot of trucks were petrol then, even international 's . The commer knocker was a 2 stroke diesel back then.
