Please do a video on how to decorate a rectangluar bedroom with a big window on one end, and the 2 doors on the other end. (entry door and closet door). To me those 2 ends of the room are dead and unuseable! Help! (love your videos!)
I love this video!! I have to laugh because our main bedroom is the bane of my existence! We have a PNW A-frame house with a loft main bedroom that is over the living room, a pitched cedar-clad ceiling (so we float the bed out from the wall- no solid wall for a bed), it is a HUGE space with small closets but a fireplace, and no way to close off from the 2-story windows in the front of the house (I wear sunglasses in the morning getting dressed!) and cathedral-shaped windows to the back, but I have a gorgeous view of the Sound and spy an occasional orca! I'm not complaining, but this bedroom follows NO rules!
Hi Valentina - I love you and your channel!! So wanted to start by giving you kudos on creating such a great channel and community. I live in Brooklyn and would find it super helpful if you did a video on designing small, challenging spaces where you need to maximize your functionality. Would find that really helpful and would love to hear your thoughts
Ok this was so simple yet so helpful! PLEASE do more of these videos! I have a ton of ideas of how to finish my room just with this video alone! 😍 thank you!
I loved this. I wish you would do one on hi and lo priced items for your home such as light fixtures, faucets and shower heads for instance. Thank you again this really kept my attention.
Really love your new light bedroom ❤❤ ... I was the same as you ...always had a 'dark bedroom' ... but just after COVID I changed my room to a cream & sage coloured bedroom, with warm white wall and a lot of plants ...I'm loving it now 😍
This kind of video helped me a lot making decisions easier and budget friendly in upgrading our bedroom. Thank you!!! Hope you can bring back the videos that you made years ago where you show a room of your viewers and give them tips on how to decorate and fix them.
Thank you V! I loved it. Can you do a video on a two story house? Should the color palette be the same downstairs and upstairs? And what decor ideas for the staircase?
I added a gold metal Moroccan light above my bed. It’s artsy and sexy. It’s not a main light, it’s more of a mood light ❤ Listen, when you’ve been married for a while you’ve just got to step it up 😂
Thank you for answering some of my questions. Apartment bedrooms usually have small bedrooms and it can be difficult to design and give the room a luxury feel. Focusing on what I really need in the space is good advice.
I want to thank you, Valentina, for this teachtorial! Often I find it difficult to relate because I have a very colorful seaside style but this video was so helpful…thanks!
So cool your so amazing I really appreciate you I’m learning so much from you on how to style my room my hubby is loving our room I’m working on a budget but is coming along nice thanks to you Valentina you rock😁👍
Perfect timing! Doing our bedroom now and I chosen a dark chocolate color. We have 2 swing arm wall sconces over the head of the bed that are black and gold… looks classy! I have plenty of room for a lounge chair and small coffee table opposite the bed. Husband is a wood worker and is going to make built in shelves and side tables around the head of the bed. Can’t wait to relax in a well styled room! AND we’re going to try Birch. 🙌🏼🛏️
The one item on my must-have list for the guest bedroom was a queen size bed. And it only JUST fits, basically like a king in a 10x10 room, because the room is like 7.5x12 (too small for an 8x10 rug, I checked). So yeah, I had to compromise on everything else in the room design, but my top priority was comfort for couples and tall friends sleeping in the room, for whom a queen bed was really a requirement.
There really needs to be a double thumbs up - thank you for the video! This is SO timely for us as we are just wrestling with how to tackle a big update of our pre-teen daughter’s bedroom, after lots of nagging! She wants a more grown up “Very Valentina” room! 😂 Would love some ideas or advice on how to style awkward spaces like alcoves that can be tricky to make work without structural changes.
I loved this video V, it’s given me so much inspiration to redo my bedroom, I’ve got these two chest of drawers either side of our bed and they’re taking up way too much space plus I’ve had them for years, so it’s time for them to go and be replaced with smaller bedside chest of drawers, plus I don’t like the colour of them anymore being White, our bedroom is a little difficult to design with furniture because we have a window seat in front of the only window in the room which makes it difficult to put furniture in there that doesn’t make the space look cluttered, I Love your ideas, Thank you for sharing them, especially loved this one, I’d love to see more of these types of videos going from room to room. Have a Great Weekend ahead. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺🖤🖤🖤🖤
Hello,Love all your videos especially ALDIs with prices, cooking and using up stuff from freezer&larders.Happy&peaceful holiday oh Orin ❤such a handsome little guy 😘😘🙏❤️🙏😇🌹😇
Yes!!!!! Please...more rooms. I have to create a mood board on Canva to keep me from just buying random stuff. I find the things i want to buy and put it all together to see if it looks right together. Otherwise.... I'm all over the place. Lol
How about decorating in traditional with a modern updated twist? Just bought a new home with that type of architecture and would like to stick true to style. ❤
I live in Holland and most bedrooms are way smaller here. I am happy to have room for both a bed and a small wardrobe. No room for dressers, chairs or even consoles. Even our bed is only 140 by 200
Can you please do a video on decorating wall in living room with TV on it.What to put underneath TV that looks good, should coffe table match with console ,or should we blend furniture under and around tv with wall colour.I'm SOOO CONFUSED! Please help Valentina! Lot's of love from Bosnia and Herzegovina❤
❤ You are sooo beautiful & I think your outfit looks so smart on you. I love to see what u r going to wear. Of course your designer expertise too. I love funny Jack as well. Beautiful family, beautiful house, beautiful yard, beautiful career..and of course beautiful family dog. You've got it all Valentia 😂🎉👍👍
This was very helpful! What if the bedroom is in a basement and has only one small window on the middle of the wall that’s adjacent to the bed? Should I put curtains? How should I install them? I have no idea how to go about it. No one seems to talk about this specific problem… Any ideas?
I agree with some of the points you mentioned, but A TV DOESN’T BELONG IN A BEDROOM! A bedroom is for two purposes. One is for sleep and the other one is not sleeping. This also applies to a work station and exercise equipment.
Thank you for all the valuable information. Can you do a video to talk about specifically your mattress? You said it is comfortable but what is comfortable for you may not be for someone else. If you could expand on this matter, it will be greatly appreciated. I am very interested in a Birch mattress but very anxious like you were :)
I have to have a King bed ..my husband is a really big guy, I can’t go back . I need to figure it out. My marriage is a 💯 times better with this King 😊 and yes my room is small🥲.
i just have been through taking my room apart.. i am disabled to really trying to make my rooms work for wheelchair use now and also having a cat to make nice areas for her but having max. floor space . its big challange
Is mixing woods a thing? If so, what are the rules? I once heard a tip to start with the rug to pull colors for the rest of the room. Is this good advice? Last one, 😅 I want my bedroom to feel different than my other rooms. How can I create a cohesively styled house without having the same colors in every room? Thanks!❤
🌿🌱🕯🌿🌱🕯🌿🌱🕯🌿🌱🕯 Great ideas,Valentina…😊I totally agree that greenery is important to have.Just makes everything feel more relaxing.Add a great lit candle & cozy throw blanket,& you can’t go wrong!! (Well,as long as the person has good taste!!👍🏼😂😅)So glad I found ya’ll.Have a beautiful weekend to come!!
@@HouseofValentina Aaahhhh…😊My daughter (19yrs old) and I are getting ready to move to Lekki,Lagos Nigeria.🇳🇬 If you have any idea where I can find a West Elm store or Pottery Barn (“ish”) kind of store out there,PLEASE let me know…!!👍🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🤦🏻♀️😩😂😅
Haha I have a king bed in a 10x10 room but I cannot replace my bed right now. Luckily my room has a ton of light from 2 big windows so it doesn't look horrible but it is cramped.
I think having to have wardrobes in the bedroom is very limiting. I have been looking for a new bed but all the ones I want (upholstered bed frame on legs) are all too long and they would only leave about 35cm between the end of the bed and the wardrobe doors, just impractical. Is there also any point putting a rug down if you have little floor space around the sides and the end of the bed? Im in the UK too so bedrooms are carpeted, do you put a rug over carpet?! Would love to see you style a room that's only say 11ft by 11ft & navigating a window, door, wall hung radiator and also wardrobes, would be so helpful 😀 x
Just seeing this now. Thank you for your great suggestions. What if we don’t want a TV across from the primary bed? Do you have any modern recommendations for a long, high wall across from a king bed that have no tv? If artwork, are there ideal dimensions for across the bed wall? Thanks.
Clicked on a vase on H&M Home. Nice price (4.99) but then there was an "order value" charge (?) for 9.98 plus shipping for for 5.99. So the 4.99 vase would be $15.97!!
I'm always curious about the relationship (if any) between residential decor and the decor of hotel lobbies/rooms. Are the two related at all? Does one follow the other?
Definitely loved this video! But every time you mention curtains I hang my head. I miss them! I live in metro-Phoenix so I invest so I invested in shutters to help ward off our summer heat, but I miss the softness they bring. I’ve never found anyone talking about layering them and not sure if it’s a bad idea. Help!
Ms Val love your videos. Can you speak to balancing a room with 1 awkward window located on the main wall of the bed and its closer to the end of wall. And the opposite side is 36 or more wall with no window. HOW DO YOU BALANCE?? ughhhh😂😂😂🙃🙃🙃
@@rachelp8183I wish i could but I can because it still looks unbalanced. And yo add to the awkwardness the window isnt a standard size its more slender. I tried a picture mirror but even thats awkward because the window is so close to the end of the wall. Thank you sooooo much for the suggestions. Im at my wits end. Im ready to demolish the wall and remove it... but even that is way too much work. 😫😫😫
I wanted a queen size bed in the primary bedroom, but with the size of the room and the placement of the windows, I think I’ll have to do a king size instead. So, downsizing is a good rule to follow, but could the opposite be true too and have to upsize instead?
