Thank you for this video. My husband and I have a 5yr old. We are thinking about moving to a one bedroom. Watching is video shows me you can make small spaces work.
im in the same boat except im expecting so its 3 of us but soon to be 4. how did you get the confidence to post your video knowing the possibility of facing judgement?
Congratulations! People will judge no matter what you do! You’re just doing what’s best for your family & what works for you guys, that’s all that matters :)
How the world is right now with rent being so high we are in the same boat, expect my boyfriend/children’s father isn’t living with us because of family problems. But it’s been hard to find a nice house with a decent rental price.
Shes doing whats best for her family. I see happiness in her face and to me thats all that matters. People judge regardless of what you do. As long as your family is happy I feel like that should be your priority. What others think has absolutely nothing to do with you.
I lived in a 5 bedrooms home and just move to a 2 bedrooms because no one used the bedrooms, always in my bed all the kids 😅 now I’m happy to have less house to clean
I love that you have bunk beds. I've seen other videos of people who share a room with their kids and I always thought bunk beds would be better than just having the kids bed right next to yours. That way everyone has their own space. The kid space and the parents space.
Would love to see how you pared down your things to be more minimalistic. Being a first time mom to a baby, it can be challenging to distinguish what’s needed vs not. My husband, baby and I live in a one bedroom as well!
We kept it so basic! We aren’t in this situation anymore, however I did just give birth to another baby so I can do a whole video on things you need for a newborn :)
I have never experienced financial freedom like the day I decided to move into studio apartments with my baby. I know now that a bigger place is nothing if it leaves you financial straded. Am soo happy and my daughter is much happier. I am now able to do small things like birthday parties for her which were things I couldn't afford back then.
Your place is awesome, cozy n lovely. You can get a wall mounted foldable table and use a step stool as a chair. That step stool can be used as yo night table and table can b folded away when not in use.
You are a family of 4 in one bedroom and your house is so clean and organised. I have 2 bedrooms and my house is still messy. When will I get organised ? 😪
Good to see it's not just us 😂18 month old and I'm 21 weeks pregnant (almost 22) we have become more minimal but our 1 bedroom we have is pretty small and we have a sliding door to a deck in our room (apartment )
Hi! I'm almost the same. I have a 15 month old and 29 weeks right now. We've been dreading the amount of space another crib will take up. Obviously bunk beds won't work with a 1 yr old. Just wanted to ask how you were managing space wise?
@@_findingdori7723 honestly we co sleep lol. I tried bassinet/crib stuff they hated it. I have a crib for my toddler with the side down and pushed against our bed..look up side car crib to see what I mean. I sleep so much better this way and so do they.
@@HopePhotoG okay that's what I was thinking I would have co sleep because we don't have a sliding door, but we have a closet that takes up a whole wall. I don't think I could fit anything else no matter what I try. Thank you for replying!
@@_findingdori7723 it is hard especially in smaller rooms. Our apartment doesn't have very big rooms and it wouldn't work with more than 1 crib! Check out safe sleep 7 :) it's a biological thing and it's more common in other places. My boys 2 years old and younger is 6 weeks old.
Times are rough. 😟 they make it so hard for everyone to afford normal housing that fits the family size. Back in the day 70s and early it was a lot better for everyone. My mom even was telling me that and makes about 35k a year like me or less.
I live in a 1bd we are family of 4, I have an 8yr old and a 2yr old.. I LOVE YOUR bunk bed out roof is shorter so we have a normal bunk bed I don't LOVE waking up with a bed 2ft away from my face 😅 but it works.. also my 2yr old sleeps with us..(this might be REALLY strange 2 some but ima say it anyways, so my husband loves to cuddle and he'll sleep with the kids in the living room sometimes they love it and I get the bed 4myself🥰 I'm thinking of MAYBE doing a King bed for all 4 of us) anyways love watching videos like these keep it up
Great job I don't quit understand - you just have one bedroom in a house? Regardless smart use of space. I admit I am too clutterered. I would have done a lot in white and had closed shelving all over and under bed storage because I hav too much. A folding table attached to the wall can act as a desk and I hav so much stuff I would make my side table also storage but that's me. You can probably put two clothing rods in the closet though you may lose the top shelf. But really amazing job! And you seem happy - great!
Thanks for watching! So we shared that house with our in laws & other people while we found a house in this new state ☺️ we are now in a different home! ❤️
Get you door hanging shoe storage bins for the door. Get you plastic wide 3 drawer cart for children clothes and put it where you have your shoes now. On top get you storage bins
My daughter lived in a one bedroom she did the same thing she had a bunk bed she slept at the bottom her son slept at the top her daughter slept in a toddler bed but it worked out love the video 🤗
This use to work when I was 10😭 now that I’m 23 STILL sleeping in the living room feels soooo sad🥲 I would get married and I will NEVER know what if feels like to have a room to my self 🥲
I love your video and you have a beautiful home! I just have one request: when your baby can stand, please move the crib away from the blinds, for safety. All the best to your family! 💕
One thing I did in my one bed with two kids I let the kids have the bedroom and I sleep in living room i brought a sleeper sofa so couch with pull out bed mattress
Hey! This video is a little older and I can’t find the exact link, but I did get it from Walmart and found something SUPER similar. Hope this helps! www.walmart.com/ip/DHP-Sidney-Full-over-Full-Metal-Bunk-Bed-Black/23816238?athbdg=L1600&from=/search&adid=22222222221700665102&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&veh=sem&vtcWeb=bB2SxXNHL9fvUnyQmv0IYE&expiryTime=1717562838807&c=mWebSmartBanner
We are about to downsize next month. Family of four. Kids are boy/girl. We are getting either a Murphy bed in the living room with storage. Or a sofa bed with storage from IKEA. We are also getting a large entertainment center with storage drawers and shelf. These compartments will keep our clothes. The room will be for the kids. We are thinking of getting two loft beds from IKEA with a built in desk, drawer and wardrobe. Living in NYC paying over 2,000 dollars for a 2 bedroom is killing us.
I have two bedrooms and a teenage son and 9 year old girl. I got a daybed to use in living room where I sleep it also has a Trundle bed underneath that can be a seperate bed but stands up and locks in allowing the day bed to become s queen size bed. Was 200
I want to do this. I’m a mom with two toddlers at home currently expecting and rent for my 2bd 2bth lux apt is $2008 a month. I want to go to a 1 bd and just pay off my debt so that I can purchase my forever home next year ! They are small right is so I think it’s the best time to do so!
Sorry about that! Here’s the link, this video is a little older and Amazon doesn’t have all the color choices but they still have a white one amzn.to/3NmYXsF
@@BrittanyNicoleVelez you did an amazing job. I'm sure it was hard. I will be in a Similar situation for around 8 months with my newborn and this video was so encouraging.
