@@gingeronrails I live in Michigan myself, and there is a railroad at Greenfield Village and they have a DOWT event in early may, and the Strasburg RR Thomas operates there.

I think you're right! Based on videos on RU-vid it looks like this Thomas runs in Michigan where the other railroads get the "Dummy Thomas".

I think they put a cover over his face when they aren't using it because typically it's in the shed with other steam engines and the face would get really dirty. Not 100% sure though.

Its to protect the animatronics on the face from getting ruined

Yes he's back at Strasburg now. He had left for a Day out with Thomas event in another state. Then I caught him coming back. He just finished the Strasburg Thomas event in June.
