Well that was fun! Less than :05 dedicated on-camera time for each pair - that has to be some type record. When I start doing marathon earring making sessions I have to determine how my hands are doing. If they are a bit stiff and crunchy I often use 22 gauge wire and work harden it a bit with my nylon pliers. Or if I prefer gunmetal wire and every 20 gauge spool of black and gunmetal is empty at least I can complete specific projects if I utilize 22 gauge. It's definitely annoying when beads misbehave and slide off headpins. I finally stocked up on a color assortment of small faceted beads that I automatically grab when setting up my work station. I found a container at Wal-Mart that contains 24 small jars with lids, I find it's perfect for my needs. Everything is clear plastic so it's easy to see everything at a glance. The box is 9.5" long. 6.5" wide, 1" high. It's labeled 'Everything Mary' Bead Storage Case. I realize prices vary but here in Georgia USA they are $9.98 + tax. I can store 100 pcs of 3mm faceted beads in each small jar. I currently have 6. I usually grab 1 or 2 each time I stop in a Walmart. Most stores here only stock 2 at a time for some strange reason. That same brand has more than one style option. Another style has 28 jars, very similar setup. One of those are larger than the others. Both styles are $9.98 but if you order them for in-store pickup you can obtain 6 of the latter style for $33.44 or $5.57 each. I cannot recall seeing this deal before so I will order 2 batches tonight. I also keep various sizes and colors of jumprings in the cases plus one is strictly split rings. I swear sometimes it seems I spend more time organizing than creating but it is definitely necessary. Obviously your retreat was a success. No surprise whatsoever. You are tired but that is to be expected. It's a huge challenge but you did it! It's the accomplishment that is so rewarding. 17 is a good, comfortable number of participants. It probably seemed like an intimate gathering of close friends with a common interest that allowed for more one-on-one communication than a larger group. Hopefully you will be able to rest and recover soon. I didn't realize you lived that far from the city. Add to that the winter roads - gathering your mail from the city could be challenging. (We rarely have ice or snow but when we do I remain indoors. I certainly do not know how to drive inthose situations but I know to go slow and steady, avoiding the brakes as much as possible. Many people here think it's ok to go 70mph on the interstate on black ice! I usually work with my beads and drink coffee or hot tea during those days.) I know you will enjoy all your new, pretty earrings. So lightweight yet stunning.
