His name is Arif Mardin. Bee Gees were under rated..The critics did not like the Bee Gees and that is why they were under rated. I've been a fan of the Bee Gees since the 70s. Thank you for your time
Most critics will put down anything that's popular with the masses. The fact that they went from British/ folk pop to funk/Disco without breaking a sweat alone speaks volumes to their talent. Thank you for insight!
Their in the '' Hall of Fame '' for their song writing and second to McCartney and Lennon as best song writers in history - so their song writing abilities have never gone unnoticed. Legends.
Arif Marden (sp?) was the producer at Atlantic. Before the move to America even Eric Clapton thought they were an R& B group that hadn’t found their groove yet!
And can you believe that Barry Gibb found it by accident!!...... Can you imagine the world if Arif Mardin never asked for a high pitched scream on Nights on Broadway?
@@spudjohnsonn8122 Yes I could see that because talent always rises to the top! Although songs are creations of the moment and I believe a lot of the classics we know today would have never been created. We would probably have other classics in their place.
You know your stuff. Love the appreciation you show them. They were unfairly criticised and resented for being too successful basically. Arif Mardin was the Turkish producer, I believe.
Great reaction. The Bee Gees always loved R&B. Grew up listening to Otis Redding and Motown. Arif brought out their R&B. Please listen to Love you inside out, Spiriys having flown, Wind of change❤❤
Glad I found you.. your reaction is very insightful. I totally agree with you that they are highly underrated as songwriters. As the Bee Gees, or one or more of them, they keep popping up where you least expect it. I recently bumped into a music video titled "Indian Summer" featuring The Gatlin Brothers, Roy Orbison, and -- yes -- Barry Gibb!. With a little bit of research, I found that Barry was a co-writer I believe of the lyrics. Can't wait to watch more of your channel. Peace
Thank you soo much for your kind words! I think most casual fans of music don't realize how much of a footprint the Bee Gees on pop music as a whole. They were hugely popular in the 60's, set trends in the 70's created monster songs for others in the 80's and finally started to get their fair recognition in the 90's and beyond. Truly a special trio.
Great reaction. Thank you for the points you made and the explanation of their history. The Bee Gees are so underrated. Can you do a reaction to the songs Reaching Our, Fanny Be Tender with My Love, and Spirits Having Flow?. Thank You!
Love your analysis. I always watch yours all the way through because of that. You are very succinct. Just found you today and have watched several of your reactions. Subscribed and notified!
Thank you soo much! I truly appreciate that! I am in the process of making new videos as well as premiering a new series where I talk about the artist in greater detail and provide information as well as my reflection on them. And yes, the Bee Gees WILL be one of the first to be feature! Can't wait!! Thanks again!!
Yes, they sampled the drum-beat into a loop, so their drummer left the studio in france, where they recorded the SNF-songs, because of big family problems at this point.
Yeah I find that story so fascinating for two reasons. One, the technical innovation used to create a loop so crisp, most (if not all) would never know that it was a drum loop. And two, the loyalty the brothers showed their drummer (I believe his name was Dennis Bryon) in a time of crisis really speaks to their characters.
Enjoyed that very much. If you listen to YOU SHOULD BE DANCING - vocals only -you will hear those famous horns Timberlake was referring to. Would LOVE to see you do a reaction to it where you point out the vocal horn section in the song and explain it.
