Beebys Hut - A Mid Winter Day Tramp 

This SKOA video sees Sam on a solo day tramp up to Beebys Hut. Beebys Hut is located in the South Western edge of the Richmond Ranges approximately 1 hour south of Nelson.
This trip involves a steep climb up through impressive native forest with abundant birdlife including 3 kaka who decided to pop in to say hello.
Coming out above the bush line, there was a nice dusting of snow for the rest of the trip into the hut. Beebys Hut is relatively easy to access and despite this, the hut remains great condition and appears to be well used.
All up, the return trip took around 5 hours to complete and is well worth doing at any time of the year if you want a great combination of lush forest, native birdlife, tussocky tops, views to Lake Rotoiti and all possible in a single day.
